I think it's one of those strange things where dub-step has two sides to it. Has the more EDM side of dub-step, or as others have aptly labeled bro-step, fallen out of favor? There are a few dub-step nights here and there. It's still a thing, just not a huge thing anymore.

But there is also the IDM/experimental/post-dub step/bass whatever you want to call it side of dub-step that is still thriving. Guys like James Blake, Shackleton, and Mount Kimbie are getting lots of praise for their stuff released in the last year.
