It worries me that the only person so far to have anything on their list I'd even consider putting on my own list is Kirkland.

It should.

Thankfully Rich and the guy who posted above me have a few that will definitely make the list.

20. Th' Legendary Shack Shakers

1-6 or so are pretty much locks, the rest I just went through my music library going "Oh, I've listened to them a ton of times, that'd be a good shout". I haven't really listened to The Pogues in a while, for example, but at a point in my life they're about all I was listening to. Same thing for Th' Legendary Shack Shakers, The Germs, etc. Each artist represents a part of my life, I guess.

I'd probably help you with Sigur Ros if I could stay awake during one of their albums because they're pretty good. :shifty:

I can't rely on many people these days to help my favourite bands out. Jook was always good for the Britpop end of things back in the day.

I remembered to put The Kinks in this year!

Seriously, I left GBV off my list because I figured "nah you know what nobody will vote for that" but FUCK IT let's go.

Come on, Guided By Voices aren't that good. <_<

Who am I kidding, they are.

Still not putting them on my list, though. Looking over it again, I am actually pretty satisfied with it, although I do want to fit Todd Terje and Ian Pooley in there but that would mean bumping off someone which I can't bring myself to do.

To be fair, GBV have some albums that are really shit (and some songs that are really shit on some otherwise good albums), but they also have humpty gazillion songs and when they're good oh man you guys.

Well, that is to be expected with the output they have had. Because I mean, holy balls, their discography is massive. Boris-level discography here.

I know of Teenage FBI from Buffy and Hold on Hope from Scrubs. Good songs, but I've never felt strongly enough about them to check out the rest of the stuff.

Ugh. I really hate "Hold On Hope." It's schmaltzy and so not GBV-ish (Bob Pollard even excluded it from their greatest hits album). I'll take "Echos Myron" or "Bulldog Skin" or holy crap "Cut-Out Witch" or "My Valuable Hunting Knife" or (from what's probably their most approachable album, Earthquake Glue) "Useless Inventions" or pretty much anything over "Hold On Hope." It's kind of sad to me that a band who did so much great, innovative music is probably best known for a syrup-drenched ballad.
