Carolina being where LA clubs go to die remains the single best US Open Cup running gag.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, Jermaine Jones to MLS rumors have heated up again. SKC manager Peter Vermes has apparently confirmed that Jones is discussing terms with the league, which only really leaves the question of which team he'd be going to.

For fun, I threw together a list of all the DPs in MLS, sorted by team. This has surely been done somewhere where I could just Google it but I have a problem.

Chicago Fire: Juan Luis Anangono

Chivas USA: Mauro Rosales, Cubo Torres

Colorado Rapids: Vincente Sanchez

Columbus Crew: Federico Higuain

DC United: Eddie Johnson

FC Dallas: Mauro Diaz, Andres Escobar, David Texeira

Houston Dynamo: Boniek Garcia, Alexander Lopez

LA Galaxy: Landon Donovan, Omar Gonzalez, Robbie Keane

Montreal Impact: Marco Di Vaio

New England Revolution: Jerry Bengston

New York Red Bulls: Tim Cahill, Thierry Henry

Philadelphia Union: Maurice Edu, Cristian Maidana

Portland Timbers: Fanendo Adi, Liam Ridgewell (...),Diego Valeri

Real Salt Lake: Javier Morales, Alvaro Saborio

San Jose Earthquakes: Chris Wondolowski

Seattle Sounders: Osvaldo Alonso, Clint Dempsey, Obafemi Martins

Sporting Kansas City: Claudio Bieler

Toronto FC: Michael Bradley, Jermaine Defoe, Gilberto

Vancouver Whitecaps: Matias Laba, Pedro Morales

Chicago and Chivas/LA2 both stand out as places that could really use Jones in midfield.

EDIT: RSL would make a certain amount of sense though, which would be horrifying for the rest of the west.

He'd fit with Houston well too and they need another quality mid ... Lopez has hit a wall since he was signed. With Clark, Garcia, and Jones you'd have essentially the same working midfield you get with the USMNT in Beckerman/Jones/Bradley.

Chicago needs all the help they can get even with Big Red holding down the CDM spot.

CLB would be interesting.

... of course, if SKC manage to swoop in and get him, holy balls (as with RSL ... going back to play with Beckerman, yikes).

Rene Meulensteen was spotted at the Philadelphia Union/New England Revolution game yesterday, this coming after rumors that he was going to take over as Union manager last week.
