1-1 seems fair.

No it doesn't.

Balotelli is so wasteful. Lost count of how many shots he's had this game but it's definitely in double figures and I haven't believed he was going to score any of them, even the easy one where he hit the bar.

It's almost like everything I said about his conversion, which I was roundly mocked for, is actually true! Almost.

Real sucker punch, that. Deserved three points for only the second time this season. Oh well, at least we're actually creating chances now.

Liverpool played fairly well but it was mostly in terms of getting the ball forward - where Balotelli looks like someone who still is trying to get to 100% and desperately needs a partner to support him. Everton made some good moves and had a few decent chances before their goal came. Liverpool helped them out by getting progressively deeper as the match drew to a close.

It was an improved performance by Liverpool who maybe in a couple more games will be able to see out a lead. Late goals suck but Liverpool didn't help there own cause as far as stopping that happening.

Everton did absolutely nothing of note until the 91st minute. How exactly is a draw a fair result?

Keep doing you, Hobo.

They kept Liverpool from scoring in open play. They edged possession (53% to Liverpool's 47%) and never really stopped giving it a go. That's something. Liverpool had more shots but essentially Liverpool spent most of the time shooting from long range. Any chances that came in the box were either missed or fairly easy for Howard. Liverpool had 8 more shots on target which was just 3 more than Everton (24 shots in total but a lot of those are things like Balotelli's long range efforts to Everton's 11).

It looked like a Liverpool game from 2-3 years ago, all action in the midfield, little real attacking threat and a tonne of wasteful shooting. Lallana looked bright, Sterling continued to look good - maybe with Sturridge back things will improve.
