Close. Beckham never won but two United produced players have won it (Charlton and Best in 66 and 68), and you got the other right as well.

They lost 6-0 iirc. Can't remember who they played against. Want to say Hungary but think it would have been higher if that was the case.

Yeah, I heard it on a podcast some time ago and I knew the answer purely because I'd been browsing Wikipedia just before. 

I'd love to see a straight knockout World Cup. In fact you could do a 128 team World Cup Knockout, double leg and still have fewer games than a regular 32 team World Cup. I think.

I used to religiously read the World Cup results from a book that my Grandad owned. I'm not as good as I used to be, but I could name a fair few of the scores from 1930 up into the 90s for a while, including seemingly this one.
