From a Chelsea perspective, we've faced every possible opponent for us within the last three years with the exception of Roma (who we last played competitively in 2008/09). I guess Shakhtar or Leverkusen would otherwise be fairly decent draws... Obviously being paired with Group F (PSG/Barca) would be particularly bastardish.

I basically included Leverkusen because I felt I ought to mention more than one team. Whatever Bayer's unique credentials, I'd generally give us better odds against the 4th/5th team in the Bundesliga than against, say, either of the top 2 in Serie A.

At least Shakhtar's CL results haven't been amazing, short of obliterating BATE twice.

Barca host PSG tonight. Winner gets 1st place, PSG retain it if they draw.
