So this is a little odd: Justin Lin (Fast & Furious franchise) is in talks to helm a couple episodes of Season 2.

Colin Farrell confirmed!

HBO has now confirmed Farrell (he confirmed it but HBO hadn't yet) and Vince Vaughn. Justin Lin is on board to direct the first two episodes.

I am too. VV is a guy I like but his recent movies have been awful, almost Sandler levels of unapologetic awfulness, I'm excited to see him in something that should actually be good and gives him a chance to branch out a bit.

Elisabeth Moss and Rachel McAdams were the frontrunners for awhile but they were apparently testing with 7 other actresses as well.

Oh and for those of you interested in what it's about:

Season 2 will focus on three police officers (Farrell, TBD, TBD) and a career criminal (Vaughn) navigating a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.

You say final, but there's two more big roles to fill, the female lead and the other detective. Apparently a few sources are citing that Taylor Kitsch is pretty much signed up for the role.

I've only seen her in Wedding Crashers and Mean Girls, but I'm fairly optimistic that she'll do well.

Her career is a lot like McConaughey's actually. Solid actor that has showed her chops from time to time but got stuck doing romantic comedies for way too long.
