NBA 2014/15 Season Thread

With the much-hyped and anticipated preseason ( :shifty:) starting in a couple days, and me not being able to find any other thread for this season, I thought i'd throw this up now.

Also because I really wanted to talk about my excitement (read: brag) that I just bought my tickets to the first three Knicks home games, including the opener against Chicago. Boo your team, Srar! Down with that sort of thing!

I'm very excited for the Wizards this year. Possible shot at the division crown, but not without fights from a still very good Heat team, a good Hawks team, and a maybe good Hornets team. Wizards backcourt is the best in the league, with apologies to Kyrie and Waiters.

I'll hopefully be able to make it down for a few games this year during my free time and see them play.

I am watching the Wiz! Boo your team as well! :P

With the addition of Sefolosha, I'm once again cautiously optimistic about these Hawks. While the Cavs may be the favorite, I feel like the East is actually more open than last year. For Atlanta, having a chance means keeping Horford healthy and getting consistent production from the starters. I could see them challenging for the second seed but ultimately falling to five or six. We still need another 2, though, at least for depth.

Mavericks have sweet new alternate uniforms!

I thought those weren't debuting until the 2015-16 season.

But they are sweet. More teams need to implement city skylines into alternate uniforms.

This season is gonna' be so bonkers. Be interesting to see if OKC can actually go all the way this year.

It's a tough call. OKC will always be there but I don't see San Antonio dropping off much if at all and the Clips and Warriors could be right there with them this year.

Very confident about the Hornets this season. I think that Stephenson will thrive both on and off the court, under the leadership of Big Al and Marvin. MKG seems to have developed a jump shot and Noah Vonleh ( ) & PJ Hairston were steals.

Well hopefully the Mavs can make a good push into the playoffs again this year. Lots of new faces, a few old ones gone like Marion which is a shame.

But with a lineup of Harris/Monta/Parsons/Dirk/Chandler they should be able to impress. Chandler really was a big steal, and I feel he can come into his own this season without having to play second fiddle to Harden and Howard.

And as last year showed, Monta Ellis can be a great team player when he's coached by the right guy, so it's a strong starting five as point scoring is concerned.

As always though, defensively they look a bit shaky. But hopefully Tyson Chandler can bring the same spark he gave the team 4 years ago.

The only thing they're truly lacking is an established Point man. They have a lot of names like Harris, Nelson, and Felton. But none of them are on the playmaking level of a Calderon or Kidd.

I don't know that you can call it a steal when you are paying $46 million on a 3 year deal. I personally think it's a huge overpay, especially when Carlisle just said "One man's bulking up is another man's not quite in shape yet" about Parsons. I get that he was massively underpaid and screwed over by being a second round pick, but I think you guys just added his back pay to his contract.
