Got lazy writing stuff up, but none of the albums were particularly amazing, all generally good, but nothing stood out. Maroon 5's album was probably the best, and was a very good dancey effort mixed in with their usual stuff. Enjoyable.

40. May Death Never Stop You by My Chemical Romance

41. Great Divide by Twin Atlantic

42. Apocalyze by Crossfaith

43. Twenty One Pilots (self-titled)- Back from before they had a record label. Lacks the spark of Vessel but the lyrics are probably deeper than the catchy choruses of the later albums. Would go for the next album "regional at best" next, but it technically no longer exists which is a shame. Some of the songs made their way onto Vessel though, so all isn't lost.

44. Concrete Love by the Courteeners- Good album, don't really know where it ranks against their others because I like them all. Definately better than Falcon though. The Live deluxe edition tracks are pretty sweet too.

45. Fast Times at Barrington High by The Academy is...- Ehh, not bad, nothing amazing and nothing really worth going back and listening to again.

46. Santi by The Academy is...-Okay, so this is worse than the last one, not great at all.

47. Fools and Worthless Liars by Deaf Havana- I like Deaf Havana and I like this, not much to say other than good.

48. Old Souls by Deaf Havana- Again I like it, possibly more, maybe less. I don't know. "22" and "Hunstanton Pier" are the best songs over both albums.

49. Sinners Never Sleep by You Me at Six- Probably their best album and there are some good songs on there. Some of it feels flat though.

50. Motion by Calvin Harris- Liked this much more than I thought I would, well worth listening to.

51. Night Visions by Imagine Dragons- I think most people have heard Radioactive by now, if not most of the album. Perfectly good, but didn't enjoy it as much as I used to, seen them play most of the songs live twice by now mind.

52. Gossamer by Passion Pit- New to me, really like it. Another one on the list of new discoveries thanks to this challenge!

Best of the bunch- Motion by Calvin Harris and Gossamer by Passion Pit.

Worst- Santi by The Academy is...

32.) Fight With Tools by Flobots.

Eminem got back on form with this album didn't mind his last two offerings but this was the Eminem I missed the cocky, no holds barred rapper.

Motion surprised me it was really good I am not huge on dance music but this album was really good.

My second album by The Game and this one just worked so much better than Jesus Piece its like The Game I'm used to from LAX and The Documentary, definitely up there as one of his better albums.

I decided to give Bravery a listen after watching Never Back Down, there songs sound pretty much the same and besides Above and Below and Time Won't Let Go there's no real stand out songs on the album.

Flobots was a band I knew because of Handlebars but the whole album was a pretty good album not many standout songs but mainly flows from song to song

1) Perfume Genius 'Too Bright' - Interesting, not my usual cup of tea but his voice and the sparse use of instruments add up to a worthwhile listen.

I'd also not been aware that I'd heard one of his songs on the radio the other day, so that was a surprise.

Using Metacritic initially to get my first lot of albums to listen to.

2) Earth 'Primitive and Deadly' - Brilliant. Love the use of Mark Lanegan and a couple of other guest vocalists to just add an extra layer. Dark, but beautiful.

3) Jack Johnson 'From Here To Now To You' - checked this out after I saw Benji had listened to it. Like some Jack Johnson, but haven't listened to him in years. Interesting, more up tempo music that I really enjoyed.

4) Anthony and The Johnsons 'I Am A Bird Now' - this was perfectly fine, though not as good as I might have expected. 'Hope There's Someone' is still a killer song though.

5) Elliot Smith 'XO' - liked what I heard. Was busy marking so it was mostly being used as background music.

6) Mariachi El Bronx 'Mariachi El Bronx' - Just really fun. Always heard good things, but was skeptical heading in. Well worth a look.

7) Mariachi El Bronx 'Mariachi El Bronx (II)' - More of the same, just better.

8) The New Pornographers 'Brill Bruisers' - Was listening on the underground so was occasionally drowned out - what I heard was good. Catchy, fun pop.

9) The Bug 'Angels and Devils' - Felt the first half was better than the second half, but that is because the initial few songs appeal to my tastes much more.

I've part listened to a couple of albums as well, so will finish them off at some point.

10) Brand New 'Deja Entendu' - so much better than I expected. Hadn't fancied it when it first came out, but just much more versatile than I imagined

11) DFA 1979 'The Physical World' - liked their debut stuff, and this is more of the same. Some good, raucous electro-rock and roll.

12) Flying Lotus 'You're Dead' - a little bit mixed, wasn't sure what to expect and it hit the right spots in some areas. Quite unsure in general how I feel overall - worth a look I guess

13) The Melvins 'Hold It In' - brilliant new album from the Melvins - just real rock/metal shapeshifters in terms of sound - makes me want to get into more of their stuff.

14) The Melvins 'Houdini' - had heard a few songs before from this, but this is the first time through. A little heavier than their newest album, but with more standout moments. Very, very good.

15 The Melvins 'Eggnog (EP)' - just kept playing on through Spotify without me realising :shifty:

16) New Godflesh

17) Ryan Adams 'Ryan Adams'

18) Corrosion of Conformity 'IX'

Will give more thoughts later - this is a post more so I don't forget!

19) Crowbar 'Symmetry in Black'

20) Caribou 'Our Love'

21) Slipknot '.5 The Gray Chapter' - I've grown to like Slipknot more as they've developed away from the stupid, fairly pointless noise of their first couple of albums. This is a perfectly fine album, well worth my time.

22) Scott Walker and Sunn 0)))) 'Soused' - Just brilliant, never having really listened to Scott Walker before. The mix of his unique vocals and the haunting sound of Sunn 0)))) just works for me.

23) Mark Lanegan Band 'Phantom Radio' - Mark Lanegan may be slowly moving towards one of my favourite vocalists, I just love his voice. Had this on in the background more than anything, but a perfectly enjoyable rock record.

24) Scott Walker 'The Drift'

25) Royal Blood 'Royal Blood'

26) Ben Howard 'I Forgot Where We Were'

27) ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead 'IX'

28) Damien Rice 'My Favourite Faded Fantasy'

29) The Swell Season 'Strict Joy'

I've listened to bits of some others - I get confused as my mobile doesn't scrobble, so I'm sure I've missed a couple of other full albums I've checked out.

I wish I could listen to the title track for the first time again, absolutely stunned me with how great it is. The entire album is just brilliant from start to finish.
Nine Types of Light was fine, nothing spectacular.
Did not enjoy Motion except for "Summer" and "Ecstasy", everything else was overproduced and sounded pretty bad.
The Wall is not Pink Floyd at their best, I think it tries to be an intelligent rock opera but it can be too pretentious and there's too many songs that didn't add to the story nor stand out on their own. Everybody likes Comfortably Numb, the definite stand out.
Of Monsters and Men had a pleasant album, a better charting folk band than Mumford and Sons. I really like their sound.

50. 'Yesterday Went Too Soon' by Feeder (11th November 2014)

51. 'Go' by Motion City Soundtrack (12th November 2014)

Went on a Feeder kick. Echo Park is one of my favourite albums ever, but outside of singles I've never actually listened to other Feeder albums for the most part. They were all good, plenty of quality tunes throughout, but none match up to Echo Park. Pushing The Senses was the strongest of the three though.

Motion City Soundtrack is a band I used to really like but they tend to be really hit or miss from song to song, and this album is generally pretty miss. Some okay songs, but nothing that particularly struck me immediately as something I want to re-listen to.

63. Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways
Most of this update comes from the new release section of Spotify. Superfood were okay, a pretty generic British indie band. "Right On Satellite" was the stand out song, although I wouldn't listen to the album again.
Clark had some decent tunes, nothing special.
Really liked Lily and Madeline, just an enjoyable album with lovely songs like "Rabbit" and "Lips and Hips". This is an album worth a listen.
Building Nothing Out of Something was pretty good for a compilation album with a strong beginning and end, but the middle can be a bit of a drag to get through.
I have always found the Foo Fighters a tad, I don't know, dull, outside of maybe one or two songs. Sonic Highways didn't really change my mind, never a moment in the album that I considered a track to be worth a second listen. Apparently songs were meant to be much like the cities they were recorded in, but I never heard a stark difference between tracks.

I am going to start this tomorrow. But to spice things up a bit and to expand my choices, I will do one 'request' album per week (no matter how many/few I listen to in a week, I will have one fan request per week). So, first person to reply gets first up's!
