Love Frequency is just...meh, a really dull album. I can probably remember just a single song from it, I don't care for the album. I'll echo the thoughts of RPS on Haim, fine album but it's definitely not an album to put on repeat. I really enjoyed The Final Frontier, a few great opening tracks and the whole album ties together nicely. New Eyes is clunky, nothing really clicks and the lyrics aren't interesting or memorable. I only liked "Rather Be". The entire album should be like "Rather Be". Shame.

My journey to and from work is just shorter than the average album, so I tend to listen again on the way home because I wasn't really paying attention in the morning, and don't wanna sit in the car before going home deciding on what to listen to.

Plus Reuben is phenomenal.

1) Perfume Genius 'Too Bright' - Interesting, not my usual cup of tea but his voice and the sparse use of instruments add up to a worthwhile listen.

I'd also not been aware that I'd heard one of his songs on the radio the other day, so that was a surprise.

Using Metacritic initially to get my first lot of albums to listen to.

2) Earth 'Primitive and Deadly' - Brilliant. Love the use of Mark Lanegan and a couple of other guest vocalists to just add an extra layer. Dark, but beautiful.

3) Jack Johnson 'From Here To Now To You' - checked this out after I saw Benji had listened to it. Like some Jack Johnson, but haven't listened to him in years. Interesting, more up tempo music that I really enjoyed.

4) Anthony and The Johnsons 'I Am A Bird Now' - this was perfectly fine, though not as good as I might have expected. 'Hope There's Someone' is still a killer song though.

5) Elliot Smith 'XO' - liked what I heard. Was busy marking so it was mostly being used as background music.

6) Mariachi El Bronx 'Mariachi El Bronx' - Just really fun. Always heard good things, but was skeptical heading in. Well worth a look.

7) Mariachi El Bronx 'Mariachi El Bronx (II)' - More of the same, just better.

8) The New Pornographers 'Brill Bruisers' - Was listening on the underground so was occasionally drowned out - what I heard was good. Catchy, fun pop.

9) The Bug 'Angels and Devils' - Felt the first half was better than the second half, but that is because the initial few songs appeal to my tastes much more.

I've part listened to a couple of albums as well, so will finish them off at some point.

10) Brand New 'Deja Entendu' - so much better than I expected. Hadn't fancied it when it first came out, but just much more versatile than I imagined

11) DFA 1979 'The Physical World' - liked their debut stuff, and this is more of the same. Some good, raucous electro-rock and roll.

12) Flying Lotus 'You're Dead' - a little bit mixed, wasn't sure what to expect and it hit the right spots in some areas. Quite unsure in general how I feel overall - worth a look I guess

13) The Melvins 'Hold It In' - brilliant new album from the Melvins - just real rock/metal shapeshifters in terms of sound - makes me want to get into more of their stuff.

14) The Melvins 'Houdini' - had heard a few songs before from this, but this is the first time through. A little heavier than their newest album, but with more standout moments. Very, very good.

15 The Melvins 'Eggnog (EP)' - just kept playing on through Spotify without me realising :shifty:

25. 'Rest' by Gregor Samsa (18th October 2014)

26. 'RadioSurgery' by New Found Glory (19th October 2014)

U2's new album was them going through the motions. 'The Miracle of Joey Ramone' AKA the lead single is the best track on an otherwise un-noteable album.

Gregor Samsa was an album I chose to listen to when I had a headache because I wanted something soft to listen to. Lovely little album that's worth giving a shot to. 'The Adolescent'/intro track was the best and will make it onto my playlist, but the rest probably needs the full album listen to appreciate.

Realised I missed this NFG album from the other year. Another okay one, starts off well and fades in the middle, but their bonus track cover of 'Blitzkrieg Bop' really works with the lead singer's voice.

OK, let's call this a weekend megapost and I've almost certainly forgotten a couple. Cold Roses is long but brilliant; sounds like a compilation of some forgotten song-writer from the 70s. Brill Bruisers isn't quite a return to Twin Cinema form but it has some nice moments, usually provided by Dan Bejar. De-Loused may be my favourite album of all time, widdly-widdly pretentiousness, be damned. Goodbooks are a now forgotten band from around 2006/07 but their album is a good one; a nice mix of Teardrop Explodes' calmer moments and a more melodic approach. Half the City is a fine soul album but really not worth hearing unless you like the genre. Good singer though.

I'm going to do this, though it definitely won't be 365 consecutive days. I need motivation to work through all these fucking albums I got or am getting. Props to everyone who's working on it!

I can't take a break. I'm well behind on 2014 albums as it is, not to mention the list of artists I need to check out from years gone by. This is a nice way for me to actually chronicle the former and keep up to date with it. I'll probably fire through a couple of more tonight as I'm doing some work.

Every song on Favourite Worst Nightmare is decent and up, some fine indie music. I liked what I heard of Minus the Bear, perfectly acceptable album. I have seen Airbourne live but never listened to an album of theirs. I liked the guitars and the frontman, nothing outstanding on the album. Ben Howard has become my choice my background music, didn't expect anything loud or quick, nice chill sound.
