Amazon Prime vs Netflix

In terms of actual movie/TV content, Netflix shits all over Amazon Prime.

I have AP anyway for the sake of deliveries, because between us Stokerina and I order a tonne of stuff throughout the year. It sounds like that your usage is probably not enough for this to tip the balance, though...

I had both but just dropped Netflix. Amazon is cheaper and offers more services than just its streaming content which, as others have mentioned, is great if you order through them at all. They also have a great TV selection including HBO series which I enjoy. I have a pretty demanding job and by the time I get home from the gym I am wiped out. It is nice to have something that Lady Grift and I can chip away at it two or three episodes a night once I get home. There is some crossover content but I think Amazon's library is all stuff that I'd be less likely to see in theaters or torrent if I really wanted to watch it. In the last few weeks of having netflix I'd often find myself searching for something to watch just to justify keeping it as opposed to popping on an episode of Big Love and relaxing.

I have both but have been considering giving up Amazon Prime for a while now. The lack of monthly pay option really is my only reason for keeping it as long as I have. I end up throwing down for a year "just in case" but there's never really been a good reason to keep it other than a select few shows I watch or want to watch on their streaming:

The Wire, Bored To Death, Oz, Six Feet Under, Eastbound and Down, Band of Brothers, Deadwood, The Sopranos Kenan and Kel, Invader Zim, The Angry Beavers, Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs, AAAHH!! Real Monsters, All That, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman: The Animated Series, Are You Afraid of The Dark, Drunk History, Flight of the Conchords

Mostly HBO or childhood favorites. But Netflix has introduced me to so freaking much and is a regular shared love for me and my friends/family/significant other

If you want to see billions of diabolical horror films that you never even knew existed, Amazon Prime will astound and amaze you.

I may put this 30 Day Trial to some use after all.

I have Netflix and I enjoy it. I was really wondering if it was worth it to get Prime on top of it as the HBO shows interested me. It seems all of those channels are trying to get their own streaming networks which is kind of annoying. Showmi is also coming out as well. Why can't they all just get along damn it!

I have both. Both are affordable and have their own shows exclusive to them. Also, while there is some cross over of film content, there will be films that go to one of them significantly quicker than the other and vice versa. If you can afford them, I'd definitely pick them both up. :)
