EWB's Favorite TV Show 2014: The Voting Thread

Last Season, on EWB's Favorite TV Show 2013:

That's right! The reigning king of the last two countdowns has gone out in a blaze of glory, leaving the likes of dragons, zombies, superheroes, and a returning Dan Harmon to try and take the throne! With only one former champion returning, the field is WIDE OPEN (or maybe it'll just come down to the two shows that have been lurking in the top four for the last three years, we'll see). Let's get started!

1. You will be fielding a list of your top fifteen shows of the year. Voting, of course, goes like so; list the shows from 1 to 15, the show you listed at 1 gets fifteen points, the show you listed at 2 gets fourteen points, and so on. That being said, if you didn't watch fifteen TV shows (or fifteen TV shows you actually liked enough to vote for) feel free to just leave the rest of your ballot blank once you run out. That is totally valid!

2. This is a list for your favorite TV shows of 2014 (HA YOU FUCKERS I REMEMBERED TO EDIT IT THIS TIME), and by that I mean that every show you vote for must have been airing new episodes in its country of origin. So, for example, even though Attack on Titan aired in the US this year, it aired in Japan last year so, not eligible.

3. Shows don't necessarily have to be scripted comedies or dramas. Last year we had the likes of Survivor and The Daily Show appearing! You can be flexible!

4. But there is an exception; no wrestling. That's what Panni's awards are for. YOU GOTTA KEEP 'EM SEPARATED.

5. And finally, you don't need to tell me you've edited your list up until I post saying that voting is closed, because that's when I'll start tallying everything. Then if you really, really want to make a change you should probably let me know, and I may or may not allow it.

Now LET'S GO. Deadline will probably be a couple weeks from now. My ballot will arrive once it won't get merged with this post right here.

3. Arrow

4. The Flash

5. Parks and Recreation

6. Brooklyn Nine Nine

7. Rick and Morty

8. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

9. Fargo

10. Agents of SHIELD

11. Silicon Valley

1. Mad Men
2. Game of Thrones
3. Fargo
4. Veep
5. Survivor
6. Boardwalk Empire

9. Community
10. Arrow

15. The Walking Dead

It's a weird year in that the top tier to me was pretty clear-cut, but everything from Arrow on were on fairly similar ground for various reasons. The five shows that just missed the cut but I might end up putting back in if my mind changes before the deadline are Silicon Valley, Agents of SHIELD, The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight, and Justified.

This should be interesting. I don't have a TV aerial and very rarely watch the latest shows on iplayer or whatever. Recently I've been watching through Farscape again (10+ years old), The Wire (10 years), Firefly (similar), Frasier (even older) and so on. I'm not a measure of modern TV.

However I HAVE watched some stuff.

1. Toast of London

2. Vic and Bob's House of Fools

3. Bluestone 42

4. Black Mirror (yeah 1 episode gets it here)

5. Blandings

6. Britain's Great War (with Jeremy Paxman)

7. The Apprentice

8. Dragons Den

9. Doctor Who

10. Top Gear

11. The Life of Rock with Brian Pern

See.

For now, I'm sure to edit this later on:

  1. Boardwalk Empire
  2. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
  3. Fargo
  4. Hannibal
  5. Broad City
  6. True Detective
  7. The Goldbergs
  8. Silicon Valley
  9. Brooklyn Nine-Nine
  10. Shameless
  11. The Flash
  12. Parks and Recreation
  13. Game of Thrones
  14. The Newsroom
  15. The Chair

Still have to finish latest seasons of Masters of Sex, the Leftovers, the Strain and Transparent.

Also holy shit why has no one voted for Broad City yet? You guys teh sux :(

EDIT: Man, the last two episodes of The Newsroom really pissed me off. What a huge drop in quality.

EDIT #2: Seriously, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is easily gonna' be my favorite show on TV now that Boardwalk is over.
