VoD Thread

If there is already one of these around somewhere, I apologise in advance.

Since there are literally thousands of films, TV series and documentaries available across Netflix, Lovefilm, Amazon, etc, I thought this would be a cool thread to recommend stuff you've seen to other members or to submit your own reviews and comments.

I started watching Peaky Blinders today, which is available on the U.S-version of Netflix. For a TV series, it has a very cinematic quality to it and has some great "big name" actors in it. Cillian Murphy plays the main character and Sam Neil is in it. Tom Hardy shows up in the 2nd series, too. It's all set in Birmingham, too, which gets extra bonus points from me.

Got to suggest Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon (NOT THE FILM! DEAR GOD NOT THE FILM) on Netflix. Don't dismiss it because it's a kids show, it's got some of the best written characters and development of any TV show ever. There's one character (I won't say who) who goes through probably the greatest character development of any TV show I've ever seen. It's funny, it's dramatic, it's heart breaking, it's goofy. It's just a great show.

I'm pretty sure Terriers is still on Netflix. It's about two private detectives who get caught up in a shady conspiracy. The two main guys, Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James have great chemistry and the dialogue all around is very well written. I wish this shot got more love. It only went on for a season but it ties everything up for the most part. Check it out.

I only got around to the first few episodes of this - but I agree that it's totally something that should've lasted. I should finish it sometime.

Yeah I read that too. Also I'd stay away from Hola if you're going to use a VPN, Hola is a peer-to-peer VPN so when you have it activated somebody elsewhere can connect to your PC to get a British IP but then anything they do/access comes up as your IP. I've heard some decent things about ZenMate for Chrome instead.

Unblock.us is super cheap, easy to setup and manage and you can put it on your router easily as well. If you go to their website, it'll check and make sure you're good AND there's an option for just changing your Netflix region.

Totally worth it. I use it for American Netflix and the Network myself.

I did not know this. Thanks.
