Should I bother with Under the Dome?

I watched Season 1, and it was decent enough, I liked the concept a lot, but I feel like it's just going to keep just adding more and more weird stuff without ever resolving anything, before it ultimately realises that it's run out of episodes (like Lost) or gets cancelled in the middle of a storyline (the 4400).

The Season 1 finale for example, I thought would be an ideal place to answer a couple of questions, then ask a few more to keep me interested... and I suppose we found out

Who the Monarch was

But since I don't know what the point of that role is, I don't really care, and the the episode was over.

Is season 2 worth it? Anyone at all hyped for season 3?

Not really. I watched season 1 because I had read and liked the book it was based on, but honestly I feel like the show should have been a miniseries. You can only drag out "WHY ARE WE UNDER THIS DOME????" for so many seasons, and you're probably not far off the mark with the Lost comparison.

Big Jim's running a meth operation in the book, but iirc in the show it's some fictional drug because I guess meth is too ~edgy~ for CBS audiences or something

I didn't even make it all the way through season 1. Got about halfway through and called it quits. It just felt...directionless I guess. New people would pop up all the time and the explanation was basically "Oh, I was on the other side of town the entire time"

New people keep turning up, making the town look really populated, yet they still only have one priest, one doctor, one police officer, one teacher.

I enjoyed season two, though I think it is more disjointed that season one. Did they get a third season? Because if so, you can probably tell the point at which it occurs, as the storylines go from stuttering to actually have shit happen. >_>

I wouldn't say that. I did watch the finale of season 1 and it still felt like a disjointed clusterfuck

I literally only kept watching it to see if there was an end game, the fact it continued past the end of season one actually annoyed me. There isn't a single likeable character who I don't want to see eventually suffocated by the dome.
