Eurovision 2015

So, we're about two and a half months away from Eurovision now, which is taking place in Vienna thanks to Conchita Wurst's victory. It's already turning in to one of the most controversial contests ever too thanks to a huge number of things.

Most importantly: I'M GOING THIS YEAR :D

But, yes. First of all, Australia are entering this year with Guy Sebastian, because Eurovision = Australia. (But really, it makes sense as a special one off and I'm all for it)

Then, last night, the German final took place and the guy who won it decided (live on air) that he didn't want to go to Eurovision after all and gave the win to the girl who took second place after all. Which was hilariously awkward to watch.

Oh, and Finland are sending a mentally disabled punk band who are now the second favourites to win:

The UK reveals their act on Saturday night at 9.30; rumours seem to suggest that it's Alexandra Burke, even though she denied it.

Germanys winner, he did hand over the spot to the second place because he thought he was to smal for the big final show. He is not as smaltime as he might look, aperently he won "voice of germany".

Here is his performance from last night, aperently he had 40 degrees of fever and was sick all round.

And here is what you will get instead.

...so which country can I pledge allegiance to instead this year?

Yikes. This song has "nil point" written all over it. And people need to tell singers that making a bunch of random sounds into a microphone does not count as actual lyrics

German lady singer didn't have a good voice.

Who exactly is this song aimed at? First impressions in the UK seem to be largely negative, and I can't see how it's a style of music that would appeal to most of Europe even if it were any good. It's from the Daz Sampson school of being neither a good enough song nor an outrageously gimmicky enough one to make any ground whatsoever.

A shame that kümmert decided to forfeit. Guy has a great voice and he was the only one of the contestants I liked. The live performance of the woman who will represent Germany instead was bad and the song is just bland.

The finnish entry is horrible. I don't want to sound like I'm bashing the menally disabled. I think it is great that they can persue a musical career despite of their disabilities. I applaud them for it. But that doesn't change that the song is utter garbage. Can't they just send Lordi again? I'd love to see them again.

Doesn anyone know if there will be any Rock or Metal bands in this year's edition (apart from the Finnish entry?)
