Pique definitely had a buy-out clause, if not a buy-back clause.

It was a buy-out clause as far as I'm aware. They got him on a free, so any clause put in would've been between him and the club.

The good news is that at least Chelsea have finally got around to signing that left-back they've spent the last month dicking about (or being dicked about) on.

Apparently City are close to (or have) signing Otamendi with Mangala going on loan the other way. Seems odd to have Mangala going out on loan. Looked alright in these first few games.

When he's on his day, unstoppable. But there's too much inconsistency in his game to make me believe he's going to be the guy to solve our midfield.

Otamendi will supposedly sign for City today but Mangala is not part of the deal; instead City may waive some of the money Valencia still owe them for Alvaro Negredo.

Otamendi would be a fantastic signing for City.

Seems United put all their eggs in the Ramos basket. Can see that biting them on the arse unless they are lining up a move for another centre back before the end of the window.

That makes more sense. I can't even think if Man City even have any more centre backs beyond Kompany, Mangala and Demichelis. Four centre backs makes more sense than just three, with one of them near 35.
