Liverpool have been told they will have to meet Carlos Bacca’s €30m (£21.5m) release clause if they want to sign the striker from Sevilla, with the Colombian’s agent admitting the Merseyside club are one of two in the Premier League considering a bid. Bacca, who is currently on international duty at the Copa América, is under contract with the Europa League winners for another three seasons having scored 34 goals in 71 appearances since moving to Spain two years ago from Club Brugge. Despite reports that Liverpool have already made a bid to sign the 28-year-old, Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi confirmed that the club has yet to receive an offer but admitted there is nothing they can do to stop him leaving if the clause is met.

Fiorentina have made an offer, described as insane by a club director, to Mohamed Salah in an attempt to convince him to stay with the Serie A club and reject the chance to join Internazionale. Salah spent the second half of last season in Florence on loan from Chelsea as part of the deal that took Juan Cuadrado to Stamford Bridge, making a big impression, and the Italian club would like to make the deal permanent. Salah, who made six Premier League starts for Chelsea after joining from Basel 18 months ago in an £11m deal, has been holding out for improved personal terms at Fiorentina, with the 23-year-old believed to be asking for in excess of £2m a year. Desperate to hold on to Salah, who scored nine goals during his loan spell and was something of a revelation, Fiorentina appear to have met the winger’s demands, with reports in Italy suggesting that the player has been offered €3m (£2.1m) a year plus bonuses. Fiorentina had an option to extend Salah’s loan for another season but there is also a clause in the contract – a fee of €16m has been suggested – that would allow them to make the deal permanent. Salah is surplus to requirements at Chelsea and made it clear when he moved to Italy that he had no intention of returning to Stamford Bridge. With Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur also linked with the player Fiorentina knew that they had to put forward a financial package capable of turning Salah’s head. Salah is expected to make a decision on his future in the next 48 hours.
Leicester City are set to sign Japan striker Shinji Okazaki on a four-year deal from German side Mainz, subject to a work permit. The 29-year-old scored 12 goals in the Bundesliga last season, as his side finished 11th in the table. In total, he hit 29 goals in 70 games for Mainz, where he spent two seasons after joining from Stuttgart. He becomes the club's third signing of the transfer window after defenders Christian Fuchs and Robert Huth.
Northampton Town have signed goalkeeper Adam Smith on a two-year deal – nine days after Smith was sacked by Leicester City for taking part in a racist sex film on a post-season tour to Thailand.

Scunthorpe United have signed striker Tom Hopper, who was recently sacked by Leicester City for his part in a racist sex video.

Eder seems a decent signing, worth a gamble for £5 million and hopefully he'll perform better than the four goals I think he scored in the Portuguese league.

He could join the list of outstanding back-up strikers like Nelson Oliveira, Leroy Lita, David N'Gog, Itay Shechter, Luke Moore, Alvaro Vazquez, Marvin Emnes, Shefki Kuqi and Craig Beattie.
