It's easy to get the basics down with practice, but believe me, online and offline are two completely different things. The good thing is that there's going to be a lot of other new players, so don't let that stop you.

Ah. May want to take it slow at first and not use boost until you get the sense of speed. Handbrake turns were a little strange for me since I was used to how GTA or Burnout handled them. 

Ball Cam is terrible, by the way. Also in Rocket League

Ball cam is great when you're driving back to defend just to get your bearings, but trying to use it as a permanent angle isn't advised.

Oh, ye shall. It is fun on the bun once you're dialed in. 

Ball Cam seems like one of those things that some will love and others will hate. If I want to know where the ball is, I'll just go where everybody else is going.

This game is far less about positions and stations. Lot more RAWR CRASH VROOM I AM UPSIDE DOWN!

I think randomly throwing teams together is the fairest way but if people want to pick their teams, that's fine too.

I say make your own teams if you want, or declare for a random draw otherwise, best of both worlds.   Random draw might create some scheduling conflicts though.

PS4 download was just under 4 GB. Four player local, you're correct on eight player online.

Take it from me, 4v4 is just too hectic. The boost pods are the same whether you have 2 on the pitch or 8, so you'll find yourself driving around very slowly and bumping into others most of the time.

3v3 or 4v4 might be good for the odd as-hoc EWBfest though!
