What's the best sort of armour / radiation suits you can pick up early in this game?

Im still running around in my vault suit but feel that there should be better, affordable armour somewhere. That isn't the power armour that is.

The top armor from each of the four factions are pretty boss. I'd say try and do the Minutemen first as that's pretty simple, and provide you with a good bass.

Also does anyone know how to find missing companions? Dogmeat went missing after I switched to Codsworth and sent him to Sanctuary but now I can't find him.

Oh, and also, always remove fusion cores when you exit your Power Armour, lest someone walk off with it...

Doesn't he usually end up in the kennel at the back of one of the houses? It's where I always find him.

Dogmeat is usually in the kennel behind the furthest house at the end of the street where it's like a circle.

How do I get hold of the minute men armour? I think I have their clothes, but isn't listed when I go into the armour workshop.

You have to take back Castle. Just keep doing missions for them.

I'm just running around in Kellogg's outfit with a pair of sunglasses for +1 PER and a choice of three hats for +1 END, +1 LCK or +1 PER.

I ran in to some power armour just in some garage or something wandering about the wasteland, was in pretty bad shape though and didn't have every piece so I just took the pieces that were there. Was a bit surprised to just see it standing there abandoned though, unless some survivor is going to come home to find they've been robbed.

They're all over, I just store them all at Sanctuary like a garage. If you lose one then just transfer all the parts out and put them in your inventory until you can store them.

I've got two sets, a Hot Rod set and a Minutemen/Raider combo and a bunch of spare parts.

I don't even use mine really, too much hassle faffing about with fusion cores. I had to travel out in to the glowing sea in one and I was shitting it the whole time just watching the fusion core charge getting lower and lower as I kept fucking running in to alpha deathclaws and legendary deathclaws and legendary bloodbugs and fucking radscorpions and getting slowed down having to try and navigate a longer way around to where I wanted to get to just to avoid it all. Will just find a radiation suit for if I ever go back there.

If you have more than one fusion core (extremely likely the later you get) then it replaces it automatically anyway. But yeah, I basically only use it if I'm heading off to fight something I know will be extra tough.
