The "How is this still a thing?" Thread

  • Collectibles with no in-game way of showing them all on the map (looking at you GTA, not having it in game but having it on your shitty social club).
  • Games that autosave... but only have one save slot.
  • Games that autosave... and don't allow you to manually save.
  • Not being able to save ANYWHERE I DAMN WELL PLEASE.
  • Underwater gameplay where you move at the speed of an arthritic and asthmatic snail with some heavy shopping.
  • Carry limits. If I want to act like I'm on an edition of TV's Hoarders, that's my prerogative.
  • Escort missions where the escort isn't invincible.

Games with one or two super difficult trophies that make the platinum impossible.

Games that are predominantly single player but have online trophies for the shitty tacked on deathmatch no one ever plays.

The obsession with having SOME eelement of a game that must be online.

The Assassins Creed series.

Carry limits are pointless when the limit is already far greater than one person could possibly carry in the first place.

Add me to the group of people that hate collectibles when there's no real point in them. Sleeping Dogs did this well because finding stuff helped gain points to improve your character.

Dead Rising always drew a lot of complaints for it's saving, I've been playing 3 recently and had no idea they'd even added the ability to save directly from the pause menu. I've just been using the toilets like a real man.

For example you cannot get every title released for every Nintendo console on the eShop, I know in most cases its down to licensing issues, but its those same licensing issues that force games to be removed from such platforms, my main example was Donkey Kong Country but seems like that has been.I would just love to have the option to get any game ever released on a Nintendo console through the eShop without having to hunt down a physical copy and console or to use emulators.

This is more stemming from me looking into getting something like a JXD S7800 gaming tablet to run classic games since it would be the easiest option.

Ah, I get you. I don't think anyone's going to actively chase anyone for using emus and ROMs for that kind of stuff though. It's the kind of thing that whilst illegal, nobody really cares about since any sales to the original party are long since available unless they re-release it. Sort of illegal like how a cop won't give a shit about a minute amount of pot on you (unless you're black >_> ).

True and for the most part emulators and ROMs can be really good, that is unless you want to do the N64 which is very much hit and miss, more so with the ROMs, Blast Corps is one of those games that the only way to play it was to have the cart, well that was until the Rare Replay, the only game that temps me towards the XBone.
