Goddammit Jimmy! You did exactly what he wanted you to do you idiot! You just met Mike that very same day. Why couldn't you just keep calm and call him to ask for a favor? Or even better, not do anything at all? Why didn't it occur to you that Chuck was trying to force you hand?

Because he was acting impulsively out of emotion.

I really like the way Kim dealt with this in this episode. Like it would have been easier to just have her rage at Jimmy, but she still sees that he did it because of his love for his brother. It looked like she was heartbroken for Jimmy when they both realised that Chuck had used Jimmy caring for his brother against him like that.

Spoiler

I get that. It was still the worst possible thing that he could've done in this situation.

A minor detail I loved about this episode:

Spoiler

Jimmy was rolling the tape down the way Chuck showed him, until his frustrations got the better of him and he just ripped the tape off the wall like he was doing in the previous episode.

Minor details like that are, for me, part of what makes this such a good show.

Literally just came in to post this. Great touch.

Spoiler

The shot of it when he did it also showed that the part he ripped was clearly worse looking. Nice nod to the fact Jimmy is his own worst enemy.

Another thing I liked:

Spoiler

The break-in scene at the end, just when Chuck was talking about how it was going to happen, was a case of wacky narrative convenience that ought to have been laughably stupid. Instead, the intensity with which it was delivered, propped up by the build-up involving Ernie and Kim, made it work so well that it didn't matter.

I love how different the portrayal is. I have a feeling this is going to be gutwrenching though...

Francesca. I can't wait to see how she goes from this sweet, eager-to-please lady to the jaded, bitter version of herself in BB.

Best line in BB/BCS history

"This one really doesn't want to talk about Cracker Barrel."

Just to sum up how amazing and visually distinct this show and Breaking Bad are, I saw an underwater shot of a pool with a specific lighting filter and immediately assumed it meant we were seeing a character who only appeared in one episode of Breaking Bad before this.

I immediately thought of the cold opens for every episode in Season 2

I love Kim but I kinda can't wait to see how things get messed up for her being so deep into all this with Jimmy.

Spoiler

My gut feeling is that instead of Jimmy losing his license to practice law, it happens to Kim.

Goddamn.

Spoiler

Also, Chuck gets slimier and slimier. Comparing Jimmy to the fucking Unabomber. Comparing his disease to AIDS! I mean, holy shit. What a prick.
