For reals, it's amazing how far that element of platforming has come. DF is brutally unforgiving.

Weirdly hyped to start U3 tonight. I remember buying into the hype upon release and being disappointed, looking forward to going into it with tempered expectations.

I will, however, still get frustrated at...

... walking blindly and lost through the desert via my own control for five minutes, only to arrive somewhere and the enemies being in the same place I happened on in massive numbers

It turns out U3 actually is a bit naff and it wasn't just me being overhyped the first time. Got to the start of chapter six and between the cartoonish villain and tedious flashback segment, it's pretty dull  Still, I vowed to platinum all three so onwards I go!

Is it just the story that's disappointing, or is it the gameplay too? I think it'll be the next game I play when I have time, but I hope it's at least somewhere close to the quality of the second game.

Gameplay is okay, though the limited gunfights so far are a bit tedious. Tedious flashback was tedious more because of gameplay than story.

I think the ranking 2 > 1 > 3 will remain unless I forgot something major about the third game.

I actually loved 3. It was the most over the top action which made me feel like I was in a crazy film or something. Loved quite a few bits, but specifically the bit in the plane (I believe just before the desert bit you mentioned), that's one of my favourite bits of a game ever.

The gunfights in UC3 just feel totally wrong. I can't put my finger on what it is that is so wrong, but they just feel really off compared to 1 and 2.

It could just be that you're all Uncharted out! Each game improved as it went on, I think, but can imagine how samey it might get playing 1, 2 and 3 in quick succession, especially considering the fact I've already gone through them once before. I have complete faith in #4 being the best of the lot.

It's not a samey problem at all, quite the opposite to be honest, the issue is that it feels off. I felt the exact same way when I played it originally.

The desert level in 3 is seriously the worst and most dull level in anything ever.

I don't know what it is about the third one, but i just can't get into it at all. I'm currently at chapter 9 and reading this here makes it seem like the even more "fun" chapters are still to come. I never had PS3 so it's my first time playing these. Uncharted 2 has easily been my favourite of these.

In case anyone was unaware, Uncharted 4 got put back to May 10 worldwide.

By all accounts, some websites have started dispatching the game a fortnight early. As well as that, around 10,000 copies of the game were stolen in transit and are now being sold across the UK. According to the AppyGamer article I read, someone paid £55 for the game in CEX somewhere in the UK, and provided proof. There's a criminal investigation under way.

I won't lie though. If I could get my hands on the game today for £55, I would. Apparently there was an eBay listing of the game ready for dispatch immediately for £99.

I never really played much of Uncharted online. Is it expected to be as tacked on this time? Outside of the usual deathmatches and capture modes, there never seems to be much to them. Hopefully there's some co-op missions.

Played the demo, it was a lot more fun than the other two, felt a lot more like a team game than a wild crazy dart for kills. The other two had co-op but they were DLC.
