I remember when I was about 10 or so my class at school went on this outreach visit to some old folks' home. We lined up and sang a few songs, the recorder group had a go and I played Three Blind Mice or something on my trombone.

After that we had to mingle with the old people and have a chat with them. This was done in pairs - perhaps in order to stop an octogenarian jumping us or something. So we tried to have a chat with them.

"Do you like pokemon?"

...

"What's your favourite Playstation game?"

...

"Have you got a furby?"

...

And so on.

Eventually my partner became a little bit bored and took out his new fangled portable CD player. Old person seems quite interested.

"What's that sonny?"

"It's a CD player. Want a go?"

Old guy gingerly takes the headphones and puts them over his ears. Friend presses play-

CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES - - THIS IS MY LAST RESORT

Old guy just about shat himself.
