It was a pathetic performance but realistically I don't know what Rodgers could have really done different. The squad he inherited is a terrible one, he's going to need a lot of cash for new players if he's expected to make a difference in European competition. His attitude has always been silly but for this one occasion I think I'd give the benefit of the doubt. It's still very much Deilas squad atm.

Some second legs took place last night. The New Saints lost 3-0 to APOEL and Crusaders were thumped 6-0 in Copenhagen, so both crash out. Celtic are the only UK side remaining in this stage of the tournament. The next UK team to enter will be Manchester City in two rounds time (aka the play-off round). Leicester, Arsenal and Tottenham all join in the group stage.

Rod, Ray and Danny Wallace all played in the same Southampton team in the 80s. Danny went onto play for United, until the emergence of Lee Sharpe and then Ryan Giggs made him firmly third choice on the left wing. Rod played for Leeds and was in the Leeds team that overcame United - and Danny - in the 91/92 season.
