Well guys, it's that time of the year again, which means another installment of EWB's B-League/NXT League/Better Than A League! This will be the sixth edition of the league (est. 2011) and my third year as your commish. We have an impressive return rate this season, with ten of last year's twelve participants coming back for more. Oddly enough, these ten were the top ten in the league last season, with the eleventh and twelfth place players (EddieG and Thrilla) electing not to return. In their place, B-League welcomes newcomers Jake O. Roberts and JohnnyPerfect (Asuka's Gonna Kill You). As always, we continue our tradition of draft bust inspired league names, and this year's honoree is a recent one: WR Justin Blackmon, Jacksonville's poisonous cocktail of weed, DUIs, and wasted potential.

The Teams

1) JOSH. GORDON. (Berober) - Berober has been a B-League veteran for 3 years now and a perennial title contender. Along with MTForbes, Munky, and I, he is one of the longest tenured NXT league participants. After a fourth place finish in 2013 and a third place finish in 2014, he finally reached the mountaintop and became B-League champion last season. Hopefully that fantasy championship helped him through the dark reality of his real NFL team, the Cleveland Browns.

2) Password is Taco (HBK) - HBK is another familiar face in the B-League. He has firmly established himself as a playoff threat with his squad coming in 2nd place in both 2014 and 2015. Is 2016 the year he finally breaks through and wins it all?

3) Viridian City Valors (Slogger) - Slogger had a dominant squad in 2015 with an impressive 12-2 regular season record, 3 more wins than the nearest competitor. Unfortunately, he came up short in the first round of the playoffs and only had third place to show for it.

4) trans-asy football (MTForbes) - Forbes enters her fourth B-League season hoping to build on the momentum she has established. After finishing an embarrassing 2-12 and losing a wager that named her team Headcheese's Bitches in his rookie season (2013), she has made the playoffs 2 years in a row with 2 fourth place finishes.

5) House Targaryen (Mick) - Mick enters his 3rd B-league season and hopes to crack the playoffs after just missing the cut in 2015 (despite an 8-6 record) and settling for 5th place. His beloved Bucs appear on the upswing and hopefully his fantasy team is as well.

6) Butchers of Luverne (HC) - This will be my fourth B-League season. After winning the championship in both 2013 and 2014, I finished 2015 in the middle of the pack with a mediocre 7-7 record and sixth place. To add insult to injury, my arch-nemesis Berober finally won the title last year! I look to regain the crown this season and continue my prestige TV inspired team names.

7) Shitfuck Bitchasses (DavidMarrio) - DM placed second in 2013 despite an awful team name given to him by the rest of the league. He left the B-league for the ill-fated Euro League in 2014, but his 2015 return saw him finish a lukewarm 7th place finish.

8) San Fierro 69ers (Munky) - Munky enters his fourth season in B-League and looks to finally break through the glass ceiling.  After a disappointing 5-9 in 2013, he as gone 7-7 the past two seasons and finished last year with an 8th place finish.

9) DeAndre Levyathans (DFF) - DFF participated in Euro League in 2014. Upon coming to B-League, he finished 9th place. The Lions fan surely aims to improve in 2016.

10) Rock Chalk Boys (JamesEwing) - James mustered a 5-9 record and 10th place finish in 2015, making him the Heath Slater of B-League. There's nowhere to go but up in 2016!

11) Thunder Rhodes (Jake O. Rhodes) - Jake makes his B-League debut this season.

12) Steeler Nation (Asuka's Gonna Kill You) - JohnnyPerfect make his B-League debut this season, and in case you didn't know, he's a Steeler's fan!

Quick Notes
- Draft will last 16 rounds
- Order is obviously snake-style, meaning if Mick for example picks last in round 1 then he picks first in round 2.
- I will keep the draft results updated in this post. Make sure you look over it before making a pick to avoid picking someone already taken.
- We're playing under 1 PPR rules. Passing TDs are worth 7 points a piece, meaning QBs are a little more valuable
- Roster consists of: 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 3 FLEX(RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DEF, 7 Bench Spots
- Waivers will be rolling and reset weekly with lowest record getting top dibs

- Draft will start August 1st
- Each person gets 12 hours to make their pick. Time limit may be shortened if we run too slowly towards the later rounds. Try to move quickly.
- Be a pal and tag the person who picks after you so they know it's their turn.

- I'll be lenient on late picks in the first couple of rounds, but as we move along if you don't have a list you're getting Yahoo's best available at a position of need, with the option to correct the pick if you make it back before the next person.
- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE: If you think you might get busy, be asleep, etc, please send me a list of players you want, in order. This makes everything run so much smoother and prevents you from missing a pick. I will do my best to PM you guys when you're up but no guarantees, so please consider giving me a list. Lists will be critical to finishing the draft on time as we get deeper and time limits shorten.

I randomized it, but there were odd similarities to the order I introduced everyone (maybe because I entered the names into the generator in that order?), mainly Jake and Johnny being last 2 and berober and HBK being top 2. It was weird. Anyways, posting Meacon's order in a minute!

Reference the original post for the draft order. JamesEwing es numero uno.

For the league I Commish I pulled my name out of the hat stone cold last, So needless to say this pleases me greatly.

Also note that last year's gaming related themed name (Fallout 4) has been replaced with this year's gaming related theme name (Pokémon GO) I consider this is be an integral part of my success.

Ewing is taking Gotskowski with the first overall pick isn't he?

Fun fact, I was in the inaugural B-League season in 2011 as Cruz Control and took 3rd. So I'm technically a tenured member too. :P

1st to 5th isn't bad. I can deal with that. I'm pretty sure I've picked in the middle of the pack the last 2 seasons anyway. If Ewing knows who he wants to take 1st, does he have to wait until Monday or can he just go ahead and make his pick?

I agree, but I will say the draft class is very weird this year, though. There aren't a lot of sure things and a lot of the first/second round guys have question marks or are relatively unproven, at least in my opinion.

Couldn't you have used someone else? :(

I don't know why no one understands picking near the end of the round is best. I'll take 12th and 13th best over 1 and 24 any day

I personally feel like 12th & 13th are great for Rounds 1 & 2. But after that, it doesn't help too much. Added with the fact of what HC said, there are question marks everywhere. I'd rather be on the higher end of Round 1 so I can get a rock-solid player, and then maybe take some gambles later on.

Completely disagree. Let's say you take the top QB or RB 1st overall then they get hurt like Luck and Bell did last year then who's your best player? Sammy Watkins or whoever the hell actually makes it back to 24. Getting 2 top 15 guys is always the safer bet. That way you don't pin your hopes on that sad ass Sammy Watkins (sorry Buffalo fan)

So, I'm pretty sure I have my first pick nailed down to either Peyton Manning or Calvin Johnson. What do you guys think?
