Short Girl wants Tekken 7 somethin' fierce, but meanwhile I'm just pining for the days of TANK HAMHEAD vs BASH SMASHASS

Part of what allures me is that these matches can end with almost any move, so this provides a service that actual wrestling so rarely offers.

Weirdly, I have very little interest in MMA.

JIB LIPLICK

I mean yeah, that's what I love about this game and hate about wrestling nowadays.

I rewatched the second Bayley/Asuka match with a friend recently, and it dawned on me that this part of the reason I love Asuka - she won with a series of kicks. None of those kicks was explicitly her "finisher", but everyone bought it as the finish.

I get simming can be fun for some, but I had no idea that what seems like a large majority of hardcore fans just have these games purely for simming.

@Mesut timmozil and I once did our own World Tag Grand Prix with either 32 or 64 teams. We simmed a group stage preliminary round, followed by a knockout stage and everything.

I think The Outsiders ended up winning...

Once I started getting familiar with the game, I'd notice when wrestlers would fall from exhaustion or not take as many hits to fall/etc.  Even though I wasn't playing, it heightened the tension because I knew a critical or a finish was more likely.

Contrast that to most main events where you see people exhausted, but then everyone seems to have that Fighting Spirit and there are fifty more finishers waiting for ya.

Fire Pro on the SNES gave me my favourite ending to any match, real or video game, ever. When, having delivered a piledriver to my opponent after a gruelling long match, I rolled off him...under the bottom rope, fell out of the ring, landed on my head, and got counted out.
