It's not just reinstalling, it's doing it in that order.

If you put the neighbourhoods in BEFORE you install the game, it should work. Not sure why.

I hope it's the gender-bender Pleasantview, Weivtnasaelp. Everyone is now the opposite gender. They have masculine versions of their names (Donna Lothario, Nino and Dino Caliente, etc), and wear similar clothes.

 Tell me this is a real thing.

Will Sims 2 play on Windows 10? I want to buy it again but I'm worried it won't play.

Yeah, Origin version runs, but it's ALL the content. Which is fine, 'cause it's Sims 2 :shifty: .

Sims 2 was the best one for me because the nanny got stuck at the top of the stairs for 3 days and then got herself unglitched, went into the kitchen and burst into flames.

Can I still get it free on Origin?

Not for Mackem's, no :(

Having seen Sims 2 load up in like 2 minutes on first boot the other day, I can already say Sims 2 is the best Sims ever made... Because once Sims 3 got all the content the performance went to shit, and it wasn't even that stable on first release.

I really like many of the Sims 3 features, especially being able to reskin EVERYTHING without needing to fuck around with modthesims or other mods. And the open world motif had its fun parts too, but sadly it was just so badly optimized and such a buggy mess it never was as straight up enjoyable and easy to pick up and play as Sims 2 was.

Sims 4 i've been playing a bit lately too, and whilst this version also has a bunch of very awesome things I can't do without (multi-sim conversations, multi-tasking), it also just lacks that charm Sims 2 has.

Although if I pick up Sims 2 again, I do need to find a proper script mod that turns the autonomy system into something that really allows me to just sit there and see my Sims living a life with barely any input, because that's the only way I can prevent myself from powergaming to the max.

I agree 100%

I've had to limit my choice of expansions on the Sims 2. Island Resort and the Future one are automatically out. Really, excluding anything past Generations (But including University....maybe) is the way to go, and even then there's so much game breaking shit.

Here are the problems with the expansions that I don't exclude (stuff packs are fine):

World Adventures makes it easy to get rich very fucking fast, you have a reward to stop all bills, and I think this is the one which included Tiberium, which you can find in the fucking garbage for fuck's sake.

Ambitions includes the pawn shop, which is just 'hey, put random shit in and get rich!"

Late Night gives you the Vampire life state, which the townies WILL get and WILL spread, causing a vampire apocalypse. The celebrity system is stupid to the point that I need an mod to kill the goddamn paparazzi.

Generations was great. That being said, your kids will get grounded for breaking curfew (while you, the Chief of Police, give them a driving a lesson), and they can't even leave the house to go to school, which if they do means they're grounded again etc.

My favourite thing from Sims 3 wasn't even from playing it. It was reading this https://aliceandkev.wordpress.com/2009/06/09/alice-and-kev/
For some reason I couldn't stop reading it. Waiting for updates. Like an old Minecraft let's play...

Booted up The Sims 2 today... But didn't know where I wanted to start, so I'm going to hold off for a bit and check out some mods etc to see if something catches my eye.

If you want easy money, get a cat, teach it tricks, have it get a job :shifty:

Then wonder how you fucked up your life by watching it take a limo while you take a shit box
