It's all about the insanity of Live and Let Die.

Moore's Bond films could probably be re-edited as "The Saint on Her Majesty's Secret Service" thanks to how similarly he plays the characters. The Saint is awesome. His brief Clouseau portrayal too.

That's just accepted knowledge or you are patently wrong. Connery so far outstrips the other Bonds to make it not a worthwhile discussion, almost.

Colin Salmon would be the best Bond :@

Roger Moore was my favorite Bond when I was a kid. Brosnan was too new for me to think he was my favorite, and I think what I liked about him was that he reminded me of Moore. I liked my Bonds, at the time, to be super-suave and larger than life and the Connery films were comparatively grounded. I think if I were to go back as an adult I'd rate Connery the highest, but I haven't actually watched an old Bond movie in full in ages outside of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Lazenby is underrated, btw).

Live and Let Die was fucking bonkers, though. I'm genuinely unsure if I want to rewatch that one now that I'm adult, I'd rather enshrine it in "this is the one with the voodoo priest and the alligators, awesome" memory.

Live and let die is still awesome, yeah, it's over the top, and there's lots of things that are products of it's time, but I still enjoy it. It's my favorite of Moore's Bond films after The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only.

The thing about James Bond is, that the actor whose portrayal is closest to the novels is Timothy Dalton. Despite his two films being amongst the worst. (LICENSE TO KILL was more or less a generic revenge action flick with Bind shoehorned in)

And sorry, but anyone who doesn't have Connery as one of their top two is insane.

1.Connery

2. Brosnan

3. Moore

4. Dalton

5. Craig

6. Lazenby

Moore played the part for about two films longer than he should have, and Dalton had the misfortune of having lousy scripts but did a damn fine acting job, regardless. May be hypocritical to have him ranked higher than Craig when my reasoning for Lazenby being so low is that he only did one film, but Craig is not a great Bond. (I wish they had gone with Clive Owen, instead.)

Goldeneye is the only Bond film I saw in a theater, by the way.

I agree on License To Kill but Living Daylights was by far the best Bond film of the 80s and a highlight of the franchise in general.

Living Daylights is decent, but I wouldn't call it one of the best. But License To Kill is possibly the worst Bond movie of all.

Incidentally, the love interest in the Living Daylights movie is actually the villain in the original story by Ian Fleming.

How is Craig so low?! I know the last three Bond films have been a bit rubbish but Casino Royale is the best Bond film.

I wouldn't call Skyfall rubbish. It was rather good until they got to the "Home Alone for grown-ups" part at the end.

Skyfall was pretty good actually now I think about it.

Plus it had one of he best bond villains in ages. Silva was so good! A shame that he only showed up at the 30 minute mark because I would've loved to see more of him.

He was such a good heel. I might need to watch that again.

I actually love both of Dalton's films, but I guess I'm in the minority. I wouldn't rank either one in the bottom of the pile, but that's just me.
