Jon Moss admitted he wrongly booked Adam Smith for diving yesterday - and should have awarded a pen instead - but that yellow must stand and Smith now has a one game ban for it. Some of these rules are silly.

Really? Because I thought it was a dive. He goes to ground way too early and was looking for the penalty.

This is the thing with this diving stuff. It is quite subjective a lot of the time, and I think that in real time it can be very hard for refs to judge correctly.

As for the retrospective panels, they're a joke. Ex-players shouldn't be on them, it should only be match officials. We see every damn day on the live football coverage just how bloody little ex-players actually know about the game and its rules.

The ex-players know how to bend the rules, the ex-refs know what the rules are. The ex-players shouldn't be on the panel at all.

Ramsey the other week against Burnley I thought was similar to the Niasse situation. I thought they were both pens but they both made a bit of a meal about the fouls. Doesnt mean its not a foul but they did exaggerate it.

Still think it was harsh how Niasse got banned.

Crystal Palace have revealed plans to redevelop Selhurst Park and increase capacity to 34,000 at a cost of up to £100m.

The ambitious project “to create a new Crystal Palace for the modern era” includes a new centrepiece five-storey stand featuring an all-glass front.

“Plans will be submitted to Croydon Council in January and, subject to planning permission being granted, work will begin in the next 12 months,” the Premier League club said.

The proposed new stand’s all-glass front is homage to the club’s formative years when it was situated next to the original Crystal Palace on Sydenham Hill.

As well as increasing the capacity from 26,000, the plans include improved facilities for disabled supporters, “premium hospitality and entertainment facilities” for more than 2,500 fans, a bigger pitch, museum and new community facilities.

The club said the project at Selhurst Park, the club’s home since 1924, was expected to cost £75-100m and would take three years to complete, and that the existing main stand would remain in use throughout the building work.

The chairman, Steve Parish, said: “We need a stadium that reflects who we are, how far we have come and where we want to go – a stadium that south London can be proud of, a home worthy of our incredible support and unique atmosphere and this great Premier League we represent.

“We have worked long and hard and looked at several options over the years, including returning to the original site of Crystal Palace, which wasn’t viable. While we can’t go back to it, we can build a new one and today I am proud, in conjunction with our partners KSS, to introduce a new Selhurst Park with a new Crystal Palace for a new era.

“We are creating a new home worthy of our club, our fans and our community, and a celebration of our 112 years in south London.”

The project is being designed by the leading stadium architects KSS, the firm behind the redevelopment of Anfield, Twickenham and Wimbledon.

To be fair, he hasn't got a one match ban for that, he's got a one match ban for reaching five bookings. The whole thing is a mess though, get caught diving and you get booked, don't get caught and get retrospectively punished and you get a two match ban.
