It's taken us long enough to get back to the Championship, staying there would be nice.

Former Tottenham and Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has left Swindon following their relegation to the bottom tier of the English Football League.

Sherwood was appointed director of football at the County Ground last November, brought in by owner Lee Power, a long-standing personal friend.

Asked about 48-year-old Sherwood, Power said: "Tim's gone." And his response was similar regarding the club's director of football role, saying: "That's gone."

 bellend

Hoping Stevenage can build on last year and nudge into the play-offs but I'll be happy again with a safe campaign without too many relegation scares. Easy to forget how much we were punching above our weight with a run on the League One playoffs a few years back and just hope to keep the league status going.

Taking it with a huge pinch of salt but The Telegraph have said that our takeover talks with that German Consortium are at an advanced stage. Apparently McInnes has turned down the job over concerns the potential new owners would want their own man at the helm.

So we've got a new gaffer, had unprecedented success with APOEL Niccasia so I'll give him a chance. Would have preferred someone more reputable but at least it isn't Pearson or Stam.
