Why would anyone ever pay to watch this? It's a guy that's not a boxer in a boxing match with the number one boxer in the world today. There's only one really boring way this ends. It's not even got the Boxing vs MMA angle since it's a straight boxing match.

You know how sport athletes get paid a fuckton of money while people trying to cure cancer don't?

It's called the human race.

Athletes get paid a fuckton of money because they make a fuckton of money for the people / organisations paying them because people enjoy watching demonstrations of elite of the elite of the elite skill sets.

It's a load of rubbish really, but people will pay to see it, and that's all that matters in a sport that's much more about business than anything else. McGregor's talking about how his punching power will see him through, but hitting people flush in a boxing match isn't a comparable proposition to that in MMA. Add to that the fact that Mayweather probably has the best defence and counter-punching ability of anyone around today, if not ever.

McGregor's chin will be the telling factor in how long the fight lasts. Mayweather isn't a hard hitter when compared with other top fighters, but you'd realistically expect McGregor to be hit a lot. If he can take a large volume of small shots, he could make it through a few rounds, at least. That's unless they agree to draw things out to give the illusion of a competitive contest, which is something I wouldn't rule out in a farcical cash grab such as this.

McGregor's taken shots from heavier hitters than Floyd with much smaller gloves and who had much deadlier intentions. He'll survive the twelve rounds.

Honestly, I'm happy for Conor. He went from being a broke plumber who fought in a small promotion in Ireland, to the biggest or second biggest money fight in combat sports history in the space of barely four years. Dude should take it as far as he possibly can, and not look back.

Fairplay to Conor. Any boxer would kill for a Mayweather payday and he's leveraged his ability to market and talk absolute shite into one.

That being said, the next two months are going to be painful. Every expert MMA "fan" we have is going to be worse than ever and won't get off McGregor's dick for a second. Joe.ie and all the other "lad" sites have written 467,821 articles by now too and it'll only get worse.

The end result we get is a lopsided, boring fight in which McGregor has virtually zero chance.

I do think McGregor will do better then people expect but he's still definetly not winning this.

Fair play to him and Mayweather though, both are gonna earn a fuck ton of money from this. And end of the day that's all that matters for them.
