First of all he's been doing it for years.  Secondly, he's an American citizen and he's welcome to peacefully protest whatever the fuck he wants.  Try having a little bit of awareness to what's happening in society lately.  I'll take a black athlete sitting for the anthem over a bunch of dipshits carrying torches and running people over.  Really shitty time to bring out stupid hot takes like that.

No, because I'd say it about any player in any sport who did it.

What surprises is me is that Trump hasn't mentioned it, amongst the unimportant bs he spouted before actually addressing what happened in Charlottesville.

What is your objection to Kaepernick, Lynch or anyone else expressing their principles by refusing to stand for the anthem?

I'm over it. I'll admit to being a little bothered the first time Kaep did it but when I really thought about it I decided more power to him and anyone else who wants to do it. While personally I don't think it's going to do any good it at least gets people talking and that's something

I don't watch football but this was cool.

OBJ is downright sick with these one handed grabs and the ones he makes in games are way more impressive. I don't care about the glove argument either, every wide receiver/corner back that plays the game has access to these gloves and half of them couldn't even do this stuff with Stickum.

I think getting people talking is probably a good enough thing. It's easier to blow it off if it's not in the news all day. Granted, I don't know how many minds they're changing but I'm hopeful there are some out there.

But beyond that, Kaepernick at least has put his money where is mouth is, having donated both his time and money to various causes that support the changes he'd like to see in the country.

At least when there are other events there it'll be open!

Like, uhhh, what else is gonna be there?

To be fair, it'll also host Atlanta United F.C. games and I'm sure countless other wastes of time.  I'm sure Garth Brooks will be there at some point.  He always seems to be lurking around these parts...
