NBA 2017-2018 Season

Seth Curry meanwhile is out indefinitely on a stress reaction in his tibia. Which is most likely shin splints, and hopefully won't keep him out for longer than 6 weeks or so. But it's a sore blow for the early chemistry, but it might give DSJ a good chance to show himself.

Season starts in a week. Should we do some predictions?

NBA Champion: Golden State Warriors

Western champion: Warriors

Eastern champion: Boston Celtics

MVP: Giannis Antetokounpo

Rookie of the Year: Lonzo Ball

Coach of the Year: Brad Stevens

Defensive Player of the Year: Rudy Gobert

Any other predictions: Jazz surprise everybody and finish in 5th or 6th in the West. Also, Derrick Favors will be in the running for most improved player.

DPOTY: Kawhi Leonard

COTY: Steve Kerr

My rationale for Kawhi winning MVP is that voters will feel like they have to give it to him at some point and why not this year. There might be players who are demonstrably more valuable this year, but they need a make-up call for not having him win it once in the last 2 seasons.

In reality LeBron James is the MVP every year as long as he's in his prime, but voters don't function that way. He makes everyone around him better like no one else can.

Yeah LeBron should be at least ten time MVP at this point, but NBA voting is weird.

Admittedly he does visibly take it easy during a lot of regular season games, especially on defense. Once it hits April he flips a switch. But even then he's still LeBron James. Just one who isn't gonna risk injury against the Orlando Magic.
