Band t-shirts

I've realised that I'm wearing a lot of band t-shirts these days and currently have quite a few in circulation. Indeed, nowadays I'm far more likely to wear a top for a band than a sports team.

What band t-shirts/hoodies/hats etc do you guys have?

I have:

Tiny Ghost (our sexy new t-shirt of course)

Frau Pouch

Bear vs Manero

Kill Rpnzl

Exoskeletons

Hyena Kill

UpCDownC

Eat Me

2 x Melt Banana

Sleeper's "Just another girl fronted band"

Elastica

Mew

Debbie Harry

Feeder (an ooooold one I just wear lazy around the house cos its baggy)

Muse (one from '99 that I haven't worn in yeeeeears)

  • Nine Inch Nails (Year Zero, Art is Resistance, Lights in the Sky 2008 tour, HATE 1990, Survivalism)
  • Tool (too many to count)
  • Kanye West (Yeezus tour w/ Bonnaroo date, I Feel Like Pablo hoodie)
  • Dillinger Escape Plan (plain logo)
  • Crystal Castles (black eye Madonna)
  • The Smashing Pumpkins (Zeitgeist flag)
  • Casey Jones (FRONT: plain logo, BACK: live show shot)
  • The Growlers (plain logo)
  • OFWGKTA (bootleg pink letters)
  • Run the Jewels (plain logo)
  • Bright Eyes (The People's Key exclusive bundle t-shirt)
  • Black Sabbath (group shot)
  • A$AP Rocky (Bonnaroo exclusive)
  • Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival (retro 80s logo, Staff Member shirt)

I feel really dirty about the Crystal Castles shirt now, due to the Ethan Kath allegations. Which sucks, because it's one of my favorites.

I think the only ones I have are Black Sabbath (a medium that I can't fit into anymore) and the Mountain Goats (a very small large).

Weird, I was just thinking about band t-shirts today. I was thinking about a seventh grade history teacher I had that signed my yearbook with “the t-shirt collection is very impressive, will it grow over the years?”. Indeed it will dude.

Mott the Hoople

Velvet Underground

T-Rex x2

Jimi Hendrix

Dead Boys

Dead Kennedys

Black Flag

Gun Club

Toxic Holocaust

David Bowie

The Ramones

Unsane

The Clash

And that might be it? Most are older and get worn to work nowadays. Mott the Hoople and Velvet Underground are brand new from Christmas. I’ve had a shit load over the years.

Lately I’ve kinda bought stuff of my favorites. A few were gifts from my parents, I doubt I’d buy a Mott The Hoople or Velvet Underground shirt on my own, but they were certainly welcome surprises this year.

Okay these are the ones I've still got, but as I've mentioned they don't all fit:

Against the Current
All Time Low
Astroid Boys
Avenged Sevenfold
Bastille
Iron Maiden
Panic at the Disco
Royal Blood
With Best Intentions (Which was a band my mate used to be in and I got way too drunk and decided to buy it)

I've also got a bunch of festival ones:

Slam Dunk 2016 & 2017
Download 2016
British Summer Time 2017
Y Not 2017 (Which only got bought because they were ditching them for a tenner since the festival went to shit)

There's a load I know I used to have as well which must have been thrown out because they'd shrunk, I had a second All Time Low one, one from 2000trees Festival 2016, a bootleg Linkin Park one from when I was younger, another Avenged shirt. I'm sure I didn't throw any of them out but I have no idea where they've gone.

Helloween - Time of the Oath

Helloween - The Dark Ride

Iced Earth - Horror Show

Slayer - God Hates Us All

Testament - band logo tour shirt

Iron Maiden - A Real Dead One

Iron Maiden - The Trooper long sleeve

Turisas - band logo tour shirt

Queensryche - band logo tour shirt

Judas Priest - British Steel

Dio - Holy Diver long sleeve

Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper

I think that's all. I never like ordered anything, so it's essentially all bought from concerts. Haven't bought any shirts in like 15 years though.

Uhh, well I have a Black Sabbath one and a Pantera one but neither one get worn anymore. I want a Birthday Massacre shirt but band merch is kinda pricey and it seems like TBM don't do 3XL shirts.

Is your seventh grade history teacher from a character from a Richard Linklater film?

Ah man, I just put a load in storage. I have, of the top of my head:

A minimum one festival shirt a year - either Download, Leeds or both from 2009-2016 and then a Slam Dunk one for 2017.
New Found Glory 20 years
Enter Shikari 10 years of TTTS
Enter Shikari black hole tour top
Don Broco SPRLV
Steel Panther Lower The Bar tour from when I visited Vegas
Slipknot Prepare for hell tour
Slipknot Euro tour
Panic UK tour
BMTH UK tour
BMTH long sleeved top with singles logos down the sleeve
Royal Republic tour top
Royal Republic Malmo top
Theory of a Deadman tour top (from the night they "helped" me propose to my now wife)
Madina Lake FTTUTY 10 year anniversary top
Royal Republic Kung Fu Lovin signed top

And I have little doubt I will be grabbing a Don Broco top next week followed by a 30STM,  Evanescence and Theroy of a Deadman tops over the next few weeks when I see them.

I've got loads. I own way too many T-shirts. I got rid of a bunch when I moved, and still have too many.

Off the top of my head, I still have;

  • Black Sabbath fallen angel logo
  • Motorhead classic design
  • The Fall - "50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong"
  • Joy Division - "Unknown Pleasures"
  • Another Joy Division one that's an all-over print of Ian Curtis lent over the mic
  • Boredoms
  • Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster
  • Velvet Underground & Nico - "Andy Warhol"
  • KISS - "I Want You for the KISS Army"
  • David Bowie, Berlin era photo
  • David Bowie - "Ashes To Ashes, Dust To Dust" design of a skull with Ziggy Stardust hair and make-up
  • David Bowie "Let's Dance" tour shirt
  • Prince - "Purple Rain"
  • Wolves In The Throneroom
  • Gorerotted
  • The Ramones
  • John Cooper Clarke
  • Chrome Hoof
  • The Pogues
  • Sun Ra
  • The Buzzcocks
  • Flower Travellin' Band
  • Speed, Glue & Shinki
  • Les Rallizes Denudes
  • Kate Bush

Almost definitely forgetting a whole bunch of stuff in there, plus a few old festival shirts, mostly ATP.
