My post was mostly facetious.  The general consensus I've always heard is that position players only need a week and a half/two weeks to get their timing and be ready to go for the season.  Spring Training is only as long as it is for the pitchers to get themselves stretched out.  Opening Day is March 29th so if the Mets have any of their guys hurt by March 15th I'll start to be a bit concerned.

That being said.....Tim Tebow has been added to the injury report after he sprained his ankle tripping on a sprinkler head.  So he's officially a Met!

I LOVE listening to games on the radio. Some of my fondest early childhood memories were playing ball in the backyard while my dad would have the Yankees radio broadcast playing over the boom box. There’s something about the flow and the use of imagination. When radio broadcasts are done right they can be better than watching it on television.

Yeah. I used to listen to them when I worked at a gas station because we only had a radio on. And we used to listen to it at the cottage while we were outside.

With that being said, the Jays longtime radio announcer retired just before the season. Jerry Howarth was my fave and I really don't love Mike Wilner, who's replaced him. Will take some getting used to.

Most sports don't really translate well to radio. But baseball on the radio just feels right. I put the game on, turn on the lawn mower, and get my yard cleaned up during a Sunday afternoon Orioles tilt. I also like to put the radio broadcast on when I'm cleaning or when I'm doing homework in the evenings. I don't get MASN at my house unfortunately so unless I'm at my parents or out at a restaurant it's the only way I tend to know what's happening.

Baseball on TV also works well for background noise, but unlike a radio I can't drag the TV with me as I do what I need to do that day.

I will sometimes put on the Sox game on the radio when I'm in the car.

Best radio story was: listening to the last couple innings of a game, driving home after leaving Fenway.  We left after the 11th inning cause it was about midnight, got back to the car for the 13th or so, and the game ended on a walk off homer in the 15th - halfway home by that point.
