You scumbag, you maggot

What about that time Akon tried to find the words to describe that girl without being disrespectful but just landed on repeatedly calling her a bitch.

Having said that, I hate that song anyway so it doesn't really count. I think I have more examples of this for songs I don't like than ones I do, usually kind of old poppy ballads that have lyrics that just come off as really creepy to me. I like Bob Dylan a lot, but Hurricane's already been mentioned. Feel like there must be some of his stuff that would fit here that I'm over. Maybe Just Like a Woman? The chorus (I guess?) of that always came off a little... odd to me.

"Self-Esteem" by The Offspring. It ends up with the titular guy sleeping with the girl, but she's really drunk and comes on to him, and the song makes it sound like she is not really at any level of reasonable self-awareness for it to be entirely consensual despite her being the one initiating it.

Also, the lyrics imply that this wasn't the first time it happened.

Bad Religions "World War 3" has the line "the first lady's a fucking lez"

But that and the Descendents examples, I can pass off.  They were written when the members where in their late teens, trying to be "shocking" and "edgy".  Milo now sings a different line when they perform it live...can't find a really clear recording of it, but it sounds like now it goes "Your pants are too tight, you got no morals.  You suck, Mr Buttfuck, you don't belong here.  No way you fucking care"  Thats a bit better, sounding more like he's addressing a guy who just uses girls

I don't want anybody else, when I think about you I touch myself.

Surely admitting that is the first step to a sexual harassment claim?

This song is really only troubling when it's pointed at somebody. If you're performing it don't point at someone or tell someone in particular to listen to this song and if you're making mixtape for someone you're trying to woo then for the love of god leave it off.

Miss Jones taught me English
But I think I just shot her son
Cause he owed me money
With a bullet in the chest you cannot run
Now he's bleeding in a vacant lot
The one in the summer where we used to smoke pot
I guess I didn't mean it but man you should've seen it
His flesh explode
Slow motion see me let go
We tend to die young
Slow motion see me let go
What a brother knows
Slow motion see me let go
Now the cops will get me
But girl if you would let me
I'll take your pants off
I got a little bit of blow we could both get off
Later bathing in the afterglow
Two lines of Coke I cut with Draino
An her nose starts to bleed
A most beautiful ruby red
Slow motion see me let go
We'll remember these days
Slow motion see me let go
Urban life decays
Slow motion see me let go
And at home
My sister's eating paint chips again
Maybe that's why she's insane
I shut the door to her moaning
And I shoot smack in my veins
Wouldn't you?
See my neighbor's beating his wife
Because he hates his life
There's an arc to his fist as he swings
Oh man, what a beautiful thing
And death slides close to me
Won't grow old to be
A junkie wine-o creep
Hollywood glamorized my wrath
I'm the young urban psychopath
I incite murder
For your entertainment
'Cause I needed the money
What's your excuse?
The jokes on you
Slow motion see me let go
Slow motion see me let go
Slow motion see me let go

I can't believe I forgot about pretty much the entirety of Dr. Hook's "Freaker's Ball".

Dire Straits "Money For Nothing"

In Canada the song is censored. Listened to the uncensored song last week and was mortified.

Oh yeah yeah
Her voice is echoed in my mind
I count the days 'til she is mine
I can't tell my friends 'cause they will laugh
I love a member of the staff
And I fight my way to the front of class
To get the best view of her ass
I drop a pencil on the floor
She bends down and shows me more

That's what I go to school for
Even though it is a real bore
You can call me crazy
But I know that she craves me
That's what I go to school for
Even though it is a real bore
Girlfriends I've had plenty
None like Miss Mackenzie
That's what I go to school for
That's what I go to school for

So she may be thirty-three
But that doesn't bother me
Her boyfriend's working out of town
I find a reason to go 'round
I climb a tree outside her home
To make sure that she's alone
I see her in her underwear
I can't help but stop and stare

That's what I go to school for
Even though it is a real bore
You can call me crazy
But I know that she craves me
That's what I go to school for
Even though it is a real bore
Girlfriends I've had plenty
None like Miss Mackenzie
That's what I go to school for
That's what I go to school for

Everyone that you teach all day
Knows you're looking at me in a different way
I guess that's why my marks are getting so high
I can see those telltale signs
Telling me that I was on you're mind
I could see that you wanted more when you told me
That I'm what you go to school for
I'm what you go to school for

She's packed her bag, it's in the trunk
Looks like she's picked herself a hunk
We drive past school to say goodbye
My friends they can't believe their eyes

That's what I go to school for
Even though it is a real bore
You can call me crazy
But I know that she craves me
That's what I go to school for
Even though it is a real bore
Girlfriends I've had plenty
None like Miss Mackenzie
That's what I go to school for
That's what I go to school for

Censored in America too.  I was listening to Leo from Frog Leap Studio on Youtube do a cover of it and he included that verse and  I was "Wait...what?" because I never heard it before

ACDC's "Big Balls" has too much innuendo (ie, the whole song) for it to be done today.

Big Balls is tamer then, like, 90% of Halestorm songs, including their singles

I'm not sure most Halestorm songs are as overt as the lyrics in "Big Balls" but, yeah, just listen to songs like "Do Not Disturb" and it's hard to argue against the point.

Quote

You don't know that I know,
You watch me every night
And I just can't resist the urge
To stand here in the light
You're greedy eyes upon me
And then I come undone
And I could close the curtains
But this too much fun

I get off on you
Getting off on me
I give you what you want
But nothing is for free
It's a give and take
Kinda life we make
When your line is crossed
I get off
I get off

So much left unspoken
Between the two of us
It's so much more exciting
To look when you can touch
You could say I am different
And maybe I'm a freak
But I know how to twist ya
To bring you to your knees

I get off on you
Getting off on me
I give you what you want
But nothing is for free
It's a give and take
Kinda life we make
When your line is crossed
I get off
I get off

But you…

Ok, so maybe I exaggerated with the 90% claim, but quite a few of Halestorm's singles are more explicit then Big Balls

That song itself is an example of what I mean, it's not quite as overt. That song is a complete double-meaning as well, between sex and performing for a crowd of fans. There's nothing explicit in that song that couldn't be referring to something other than sex.

I was sort of agreeing with you anyway! I think Halestorm generally do it in a more sophisticated way than AC/DC or bands like them and KISS ever did anyway, personally. Their innuendo (or whatever you want to call it) is artistic, sexy even, compared to the wink-wink stuff of those old rock/metal bands. I'm struggling to think of a song outside of "Do Not Disturb" that's as forthright, perhaps elements of "Apocalyptic" and "I Miss the Misery" too.
