  1. Pretty much all of that promotion, advertising, and production is being handled by W-1 and the main event is the Sanada/Muta tag match. Just a case of not being able to co-promote events really
  2. Eddie Kingston was the Chikara champ for like 900 days or something insane until earlier this year
  3. Absolutely not It's not a carrier or network, so it shouldnt be in the game period.
  4. I guess that makes a lot of sense and I dont know how prevalent they are in your mod but mentor and split up relationships seem to be overused a bit too IMO. By the book I think a split up should be noted only if it ended badly (so a guy like CM Punk shouldnt have like 6 for instance). And a lot of mods give people mentor relationships if a guy just helped another a few times which is wrong. That being said I'm really looking forward to this and I'm glad to see the progress.
  5. Nice to see this mod coming along, but is there any particular reason for having 1000+ relationships in the data? It might just be me but it seems really excessive to have almost a 1:1 ratio for workers to relationships after you exclude future workers
  6. While I agree with you I think the reason there are so many Working Agreements and Non Aggression Pacts in the database is to prevent the US companies from raiding each other right off the bat or signing up exclusive workers who are key to other companies. Just an attempt to compensate for the realism sacrifice. But that being said I'm not sure if its as big a deal since Cap C made the changes to TNA's overness making it smaller, WWE's roster size since it doesn't seem to go on a hiring spree at the start, and the general workers popularity. Yes but for small companies it doesn't matter since they wont actually leave and the working agreement doesnt keep them there because they cant offer written contracts Like PWG shouldnt have any working agreements at all even though they use talent from other companies. Typically the working agreements are for either obtaining talent a company wouldnt otherwise be able to get (ROH or TNA with Japanese or Mexican companies) or because the companies are ran by the same people or group of people or work together a lot and promote together(FIP/ROH, CZW/ROH in 06)
  7. Thanks for getting this out Some product stuff: PWG lower Hardcore and Pure to low, no face/heel divide. DGUSA No face/heel divide ROH I would drop pure to low and get rid of the women's division TNA lower TV match lengths Extreme Rising realism to none NJPW No face/heel divide. Modern Heavy, Realism Key, Pure Medium. Change to touring every month except April and October (To at least use the touring system, they ran noticeably less in those months (Oct specifically), with only a handful of shows. First instinct was May but it would put them on tour for >5 months. Couldnt ex Jan because of the Dome show) DG (Japan) Modern and Lucha to Key Other stuff: ROH and TNA shouldnt have a non aggression, especially after the Kenny King situation You could eliminate a lot of the USA working agreements imo, since the companies just have the shared workers all on PPA and none are nearly large enough to get them exclusively for a while. Remove Cliff Compton, Mike Mondo, Rhino, and Rhett Titus from ROH as none have been seen or spoken of for months Would also remove Sorensen, MsChief, Mia Yim, Change Super Dragon to retired or at the very least occasional wrestler
  8. It would be lightyears easier and more efficient to seek out one of the guys from the GDS boards and ask to use their mod as a base. There are Jan and December 97 mods as well as a 2000 one. I imagine one of those would make it easier to get started
  9. Charisma has already said he doesn't really have time to do the tweaks it'd need with over 3000 workers in the database (and company modifications as well. I think it could work being done as a gradual thing (I am sure it'd take a few months to get everything close to right, stats are going to be subjective for example) and am happy to help with sections to bring it into a uniform feel but it's likely it'd take someone to pretty much redo a whole mod to bring it in to check. I know it'd be impossible to edit all the workers to get it exactly right and I have no problems with the in-ring stats as they're pretty much in the right range for the most part, maybe change the tv networks section instead to make it harder to score high ratings? Ratings are tied to company popularity and TV network so lowering those will lower ratings though ratings are meaningless in the game and it tells you that it isn't set to emulate the real life rating values
  10. I would say WWE still uses the split solely for smackdown reasons CM Punk and John Cena don't appear on SD for instance, but Sheamus and Orton appear on Raw. Raw has no split but smackdown does (albeit not as strict as a few years ago)
  11. Who said he wouldn't? My estimates have him right around Kane and Mark Henry levels of popularity. It's been seven years since he's been in the company he isn't as over as a guy like CM Punk. He could theoretically come in and feud with Punk but that doesn't mean he has the same overness. I also think if Brock/HHH/Rock are all pushed correctly as occoasional wrestlers that he would indeed be pushed as a ME. But it's not about Kurt Angle as much as it is about the other guys on the roster who in reality aren't even near him but you have to sort of curve it to make the game playable which is why I have Beer Money/Aries in the B- area with Kurt at low B. Another gripe I have is the amount of chemistries in the game because over half of them should be deleted. Any 2 guys who had a good match doesn't deserve chemistry. Chemistry is what happens when the product doesn't equal what the two parties involved when combined should be able to generate (good or bad). For instance Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle are two world class workers, so it's expected they put on world class matches that's not chemistry. On the other hand Randy Orton and HHH have had amazing matches with a number of people, and even some common opponents, but they can't seem to capture that magic when against each other. In my opinion that is a clear case of bad chemistry because both parties involved have put forth great matches but when together they fail to deliver.
  12. Is it just wwe and tna that are the problem? U do know this would then make the game possibly harder to play, but if people agree with lowering the overness I could give it a go and test it out to see how it goes It's not just WWE and TNA but if you lower the top end then you have to adjust on down accordingly. And yes it would make the game harder to play but in reality it would just play more like it should. It shouldn't be easy to compete with WWE playing as TNA because it will take time for the company and by extension, the wrestlers to be looked at on the same levels. It's sometimes not a popular idea but looking at the CVerse can go a long ways to helping see where mods might be deficient at. For instance Greg Black (of the CVerse) was out of the SWF for 2 years where he was an upper midcarder in the biggest company in the world. He starts the game working for the 5th company in the US and has 53 popularity in the states. He could be classified as probably a bit bigger than an indy star since he had that top level exposure, but his overness is still pretty down from where he was not too long ago. The character search filter gives you an idea of how someone is seen in the business and the corresponding popularity levels. Being "Well Known" is the 60s up to very low 70s for instance. Currently if I'm not mistaken Austin Aries is around a B in the states, which is classified as "A star" bigger than "A Draw" and a step below "A Huge Star" if you can see the direction I'm going in.
  13. " When was the last time you saw R-Pro and CZW getting 2k to their events?" Never and if TNA's popularity was adjusted down everyone else would have to be too it's not just a TNA problem. And as I already stated you can still have international TV coverage as long as the requirements are set as such that the company meets them regardless of company size.
  14. ROH is not Cult they are regional and there is a HUGE gap between large cult (like TNA) and small cult. It is possible to have national tv coverage as a cult company as many have had in the cornellverse data. TNA can still be the number 2 promotion in the world (maybe 3rd) even as a cult company, they can still sign written contracts, etc. National level companies in the US/Canada by TEW terms are supposed to be able to sell out 10,000 seat arenas on a regular basis which TNA doesn't. All of the arguments from past games that might have justified TNA being National in previous games like written contracts, TV, etc have been changed so that they can still have all of these perks at Cult size. Internet awards don't mean anything quite frankly, from 2004-2008 when ROH was putting on MOTY candidates almost monthly they were heavily praised on the internet, but who knew who Bryan Danielson was in the grand (mainstream) scheme of things? Everything can be manipulated to fit TNA so that you don't have to artificially inflate their status as a company because if you did, but you fixed their overness values they wouldn't be able to sustain their size which just leads to a bunch of gameplay issues. In TEW terms being considered "Well Known" is in the 60s in popularity at least, and half of the TNA roster is far from well known. You get to recognizable which is the mid and upper 50s in popularity. Once again if their overness was adjusted to accurately fit real life they simply wouldn't be able to maintain their status as a national company anyways and will inevitably fall to cult.
  15. On the WWE side CM Punk actually IS a draw just not a huge huge draw this can be related to HHH around the start of the brand split when things went down slightly after Rock and Austin left when he was on top. CM Punk PPVs without a John Cena match have been essentially flat with the previous years PPVs that did have a Cena match as well as him consistently moving merch he's far and away the 2nd most over guy on the active roster but while still having that gap between him and Cena. Randy Orton is a strange case because he's basically floating around lost in the shuffle but he's still over as hell having him at the Jericho level seems a bit right, and Ryback well could maybe drop a point or two. On the TNA front that is why they shouldn't be a national company because they simply don't have the workers with sufficient popularity to sustain a national level company, but they have more than enough star power to house a mid-high level Cult company. I'd agree that not many of the non WWE guys are draws but there still has to be a sense of playability there otherwise you wind up with Jeff and Angle refusing to lose ever because of the enormous gap in popularity.
