  1. Agreed, flying around in the Ragnarok in VIII is a very fond FF memory for me. Hopefully they'll have a non-autopilot airship in XIII, the improved graphics would make it even cooler I bet. Anybody know if there's going to be anything like that in the game?
  2. Hahaha, wow. Also, this: http://www.gossipgamers.com/fallout-3-cosp...el-power-armor/ Be sure to go down to the thumbnails. The ones where he's holding the minigun are ridiculous.
  3. Man, I had no idea what New Vegas was until I read this thread and looked it up on the Fallout wiki. Even the tiny blurbs about it on there make me excited for it.
  4. Yeah, that sounds about right as far as how often I'd be likely to play it. I could definitely see myself wanting to take a crack at some of those bosses a few more times though, some of them were just a lot of fun to kill.
  5. I did really like this game when I rented it however long ago. I thought it was a lot of fun to play alongside a buddy, but after beating it once and not liking the Mercenaries mode as much as in 4, I didn't really consider buying it. Do any of you guys still play on the 360? I'd like to buy it now that I'm working, but I'd also like to make sure I'd have some people interested in playing with me.
  6. I hadn't been able to get any time in on this for a while, but today I spent a few hours making some sizable progress. Spoiler: Click here to view As you can see, I had my first Level 20 character recently, which was exciting news. Since my last update, I've retrieved the mythic key and gotten the treasures from Elfheim, Western Keep, the Chaos Shrine, and Cornelia. After all that, I plowed my way through toward Melmond. Once I arrived there, I couldn't pass up the hints from the townspeople that suggested the Earth Crystal was nearby. I immediately trekked off toward the Earth Cavern, and unwittingly found myself in the middle of the Hall of Gigas within minutes. I fought my way out and back toward Melmond (at which point everyone leveled up), splurging on the expensive new spells that my Mages could now use thanks to the combined money and EXP from the Hall of Gigas. After resting for a while, I'm confident I can restore power to my first crystal hopefully sometime tomorrow.
  7. Status Update, including my Thief gallantly stepping up to the plate: Spoiler: Click here to view Fighting my way through the Marsh Cave was not easy, but I was expecting that much. I handled the Piscodemons relatively handily, got my ass back outside and used the Cottage I had found inside the cave. Good thing I did, because I went straight to the Western Keep to return that king's Crown I had found in the cave. The dark elf king guy took me completely by surprise, and it was a rigorous battle during which my Warrior, and White and Black Mages all died. Sly, my Thief, was the only one left alive, complete with about 20 HP, and no Phoenix Downs, Potions, or other means to heal himself. So I crossed my fingers and attacked... and the 32 points of damage I did was enough to bring the big guy down. I was slightly miffed that the rest of my party missed out on the EXP, but it was a tremendous effort, and I was surprised I had beaten him at all. So, is the White Mage supposed to be a guy or a girl? I named mine Angela, because for whatever reason I've always associated white magic with females in Final Fantasy games... but now that I take a good look at the sprite, I guess it could be a male, in which case I hope he at least has a good sense of humor about it.
  8. Before I begin playing for today, here's my first Status Update: Spoiler: Click here to view Just entering the Marsh Cave for the first time, and so far it's been great. Earlier I noticed that I am currently playing through Final Fantasy I and Oblivion, and I'm actually finding FFI to be a little bit more rewarding to play. Excited to press onward.
  9. Just picked up Dawn of Souls, and am currently playing through 1 for the first time. I'm finding the little sprites to be a charming and refreshing change of pace from the more realistic graphics of today. Spoiler: Click here to viewI've just beaten Garland, I'll edit in here with a screen cap of my party a little later tonight.
  10. Would anybody be up for a few games in an hour and a half or so?
  11. If RPGs are your thing, you should definitely get Oblivion. Assuming you don't already have it for another console.
  12. Gamertag is Thucydides2112, unfortunately I signed off a little while ago. Next time, though,
  13. I see that a few people are online, how do I join in?
  14. In one of my first online experiences, I decided to try some of the "GTA Racing" mode. The host picked trucks, which prompted everyone to choose the fire truck and squirt each other before the race started. To make matters more hilarious, the racetrack was the airport, and one of the huge 747s was right in front of the starting line. One other dude and myself both ran right into the plane, flipping our trucks. After being tossed around by the plane, we both emerged and noticed that there was some sports car (Banshee?) parked off in the distance. We both started dashing towards it, with the other guy being slightly in the lead. Ah, but I had a plan. I would wait for him to get into the car, then throw him out of it as he tried to back up. The plan worked to perfection, and as I sped away leaving him in the dust I heard him shooting at me for a few seconds before I saw that he quit out of the game. Classic.
  15. My gamertag is Thucydides2112, everyone add me and let's play some GTA 4 or something. Yay.
