That's my response to this.
I imagine the core elements aren't going to change (Dracthyr, Dragonriding, etc) but I always wonder during these expansion reveals how many of the systems and ideas Blizzard says are coming won't see the light of day.
It's also kinda funny (and sadly expected, given the lawsuits etc.) that a lot of the changes they're promising are things players have complained about or pointed out as flawed system for quite some time now. Professions should have been revamped ages ago and people have been calling for it for quite some time. And, true to Blizzard, none of them will admit that negative player feedback has anything to do with any revamps or anything, it's always "internally, we came to the conclusion that..." BS. Like oh, really? Take the Covenant system for example -- people hated it since the Shadowlands Alpha! and Blizzard stuck by it up until they didn't at the end of the expansion and went "after testing it, we've decided the system was flawed". You think?!
Dracthyr sound neat but Dragonriding sounds like a ballache. The last thing I want from flying is "let's make mini-games out of it", but that's just me.
All in all, it seems like it could be a neat expansion, but a flashy cinematic and dangling a bunch of carrots in front of me ain't getting me to come back. Maybe further down the line, after the expansion's been released, patched, and the fuckfaces like Kotick are well and truly gone, I might try it. But it isn't a launch day buy for me, which is a first ever since I got into WoW back with Burning Crusade.
