  1. On book 5, Fires of Heaven, and going strong ^_^
  2. Lol. I didn't know if I was giving too much away. But I guess almost everything I posted is in the first book anyway. Just let me know if I ever give too much away. I'm terrible with spoilers.
  3. Okay, this series is ridiculously complicated. But in a good way. So I'll c if I can give a breakdown that does it justice. The main story follows three young men. Little more than boys when the series begins, they must leave their small village, because they are Ta'veren. This basically means that fate is woven around them. That they all three influence the course of history purely by being present. But one of them is something even more. Now he's a big spoiler if you've never read it. But one of them is the dragon reborn. The reincarnation of the one man who stood against the dark lord. The embodiment of darkness which is currently sealed away. But the seals are breaking and the dragon reborn slowly comes to remember his previous life and so starts his journey to tarmon gaidon. The final battle against the dark one. But the dark one has followers and forced free to do his bidding and manipulate the world ready for his coming. There are several powers at work throughout the series including all the nations of this unique world. Also the Aes Sedai, women with magical powers drawn from the female half of the source. There is a male half as well. But it has been tainted by the dark one so that any man who wields it is doomed to go mad. They are now hunted and 'stilled' by the aes Sedai. Which means they are cut off from the one power forever. This doesn't tend to help their sanity much and many commit suicide afterwards. There are desert dwelling warriors who have a secret past and an important future. A great power from across the sea seeks to conquer the world at precisely the wrong time. And by god it's all epically awesome.
  4. It's an epic fantasy series written by Robert Jordan. Originally meant to be twelve books he died after writing book 11 and left his extensive notes for a friend, Brandon Sanderson, to finish. The final book was so big however that to do it justice he split the final book into three volumes. Every book is a thick as a brick and except for some main character angst mid way is one of the most acclaimed fantasy sagas of all time. In other words read it cos it's amazing. Do you want basic plot?
  5. Summ, did you mean what's wheel of time or what's bit torrents?
  6. I'm a bit of a torrent book geek. My current total is 30,984 ebooks, 383 audio books and of course 800 or so real books..... How I find time to do anything else but read staggers me. Lol.
  7. You can download them from any major bit torrent site. The best is usually isohunt.com but be warned they are massive files. Be sure they're the unabridged.
  8. I have the entire series on audio book. Best way to re-read a series of such epic proportions. I had intended to re-read the series pre launch of the new book. But I wasn't gonna start till about a month before release date so it would be well timed to be fresh in my mind. But I suppose I could get into it early and just read the latest one pre launch. This series is amazing, even with the long slogging through the middle books and Rands uber angst. But since Sanderson took the helm and as we are in the final stages it is really picking up and I love it. I think sanderson was the best choice to continue the series. Plus it thrust his name into the spotlight and drew more attention to the previously highly underrated mistborn series.
  9. I'm so desperate to play this game right now. I don't know if I can make it to Christmas. I know I'm getting it, but I'm seriously considering just going out and getting another copy just to have it a few weeks earlier. It's probably a good thing that Stokerino is here to prevent me from being daft and waste money....but I want to play so much After the great disappointment that was AC 1, and then the sudden awesomeness and sheer joy of AC 2 I can only imagine how much better Brotherhood is. Christmas couldn't come soon enough for me.

  11. DING DING DING We have a winner. >_>
  12. Ok, some of that was absolutely awsome, it lagged in some bits when it obviously couldn't quite find the good images, but overall: badass.
  13. Then where's the Abnett love? I can't be the only Gaunt's Ghosts fan on the entire forum!
  14. Its so telling that my first post on this forum should be about books ^_^ I'm an adament sci-fi/fantasy reader. 600 books in 2 years, so many of them are so amazing, but these are the ones I'd most highly recommend. 'Wheel of Time' series - Robert Jordan 'View From The Mirror' and 'Well of Echoes' series - Ian Irvine 'Sword of Truth' series - Terry Goodkind Anything by Greg Bear, he is an absolute sci-fi genious!! The 'Belgeriad' and 'Mallorean' series by David Eddings I totally agree are worth a look Honestly, if you want to get into reading and you're not sure what you might like of where to start go into an Oxfam/Charity books shop and buy the first rumpled book for a quid that catches you're eye. Thats where I started out a couple years ago when I wanted to get back into books.
