  1. Meanwhile, it took me until like series three of Meet the Richardsons before I realized Jake Thackray was a real person and not someone the show invented for a bit

Her indignation that she wasn't going to eat the egg then shit out, rather she was going to "add it to the rest of my eggs. For safety." was one of my favorite moments of the first episode

tbf now that you mentioned him doing a character, I kinda hope he treats the tasks like he's auditioning for What We Do in the Shadows

Is he playing a character? Or is he just wearing a silly costume? Because his interview didn't seem in-character at all, it's not like he was doing the Mr. Swallow voice. I really wish I could've gone to the series premiere event going on in NYC, but it sold out in minutes.
  5. Friday was a really good day for indie folk albums.
  6. When I was in Utah for work, I noticed Book of Mormon would be in town soon. I didn't know much about the musical, had heard a couple songs and they were pretty good, so I figured I'd go. And yeah, I avoided this show for a reason: I hate South Park. Fuck, so much of the writing between the songs was so lazy. So many jokes boiled down to "Ugandan person can't pronounce English words," "American can't pronounce Ugandan's name," "African person has AIDs," "the closeted man does a feminine thing", and on and on for two and half hours. That and all the pop culture references that are just so boring. And almost everyone was a caricature with no inner life. At least with the Mormons that's purposeful, there's a whole musical number about "turning off" the bad thoughts in your head. But then what's the excuse for the rest of the cast?
  7. ha, I heard First Person Shooter for the first time yesterday and when Cole mentioned himself, Drake, and Kendrick as the top three I definitely had a "whomst the fuck do you two think you are?" reaction. And I like J. Cole! But him and especially Drake are nowhere near Kendrick Lamar's level imo.
  8. This looks great! I've only been playing around with it for a few days now so I might have more in-depth feedback later, but yeah looks really good. One small nitpick is that the short names for wrestlers seems to often just be their full name, so anywhere the short name is used is a little wonky. For example, the auto-generated Segment Name runs out of characters if there's more than a couple people in the segment.
  9. I'm seeing him at the end of the month! Every time I've seen him perform has been great, though to be fair I think this will be my first time seeing him as not-Bomb the Music Industry.
  10. Orlando City's fans were pissy after Minnesota's GK (Dayne St. Clair) made a clean tackle in the penalty box early in the game. Lot's of "Fuck St. Clair," they threw the ball back into the field at one point during play, they sucked basically. That said, I enjoyed Hlongwane's celebration after scoring in his first game back from injury. Things didn't get better from there.
  11. Great point! I don't remember if the video touches on that besides maybe the idea of oral traditions changing over time, but yeah I think that video would definitely be something you'd enjoy. The channel in general would probably interest you tbh, assuming you can get over how young they are/sound.

When I saw this earlier I thought "oh, hopefully this isn't just them noticing how popular panel show compilations are on youtube so now they've made their own." And yeah, that seems to be what this show is lol. It's basically a clip show, the first episode themed around times contestants didn't read the task properly. Not for me, but I get why they made it.
  13. nevermind, ending up dominating most of the game without a manager or two of our best players and the players who kinda sucked last year looked great in the new high press, gonna win it all 🏆
  14. I saw he was rumored to come in, didn't see the deal was finalized. That's good, though admittedly I know nothing about him and am judging that entirely on him having worked in the Premier League. Without Reynoso (and Hlongwane, my favorite who was breaking out last year but will miss the first game or two) I don't have high hopes for today, but I was being a little hyperbolic about it not being a good season. Hopefully I'll be able to make it out to a game this year -- I tried to when I was visiting friends in Minnesota last year, but shitty weather put a stop to that.
  15. Damn I was hoping I could find pictures of him covered in dirt or slime or something so I could start a "Lio Messy" thread, but no luck Anyway, love that it's the first game of the season and Minnesota still doesn't have a manager! At least Reynoso was only a week late to pre-show this year...and then immediately injured himself. Gonna be a good year!
  16. This was really good. The idea that many Native cultures across America told stories of Bigfoot-like creatures (and therefore Bigfeet = real) is prevalent in the Bigfoot community. Which, like, of course that's horseshit. But it's nice that someone took the time to go through all the stories that Bigfoot experts push and put them into categories like "these ones are about giants which otherwise have no Bigfoot-like qualities," "these ones are about people with long hair," and "I reached out to the tribe where this story originates, he is a spiritual being whose name they don't say outside of prayer, and they really want y'all to cut this shit out."
  17. The Options button is here, in the bottom-left corner: But I think it sounds like you can't load a game at all, right? If that's the case, try using the Repair button on the Load Game screen:
  18. I felt so bad for that dude. Imagine being him, all excited that the game he worked on is getting announced, and opening up twitter to see everybody think AI "made" it
  19. All my mom watches is Hallmark movies, to the point where I've visited and watched the same Hallmark movie twice in three days. So, I hate Hallmark movies lmao, but good on them for not being GAF.
  20. I just watched the most tonally confusing movie I've ever seen -- A Little Piece of Heaven. It's a made-for-tv movie from 1991 starring Kirk Cameron, a young man with a heart of gold who wants to make a real difference in the world. And how does he do that? By kidnapping ~10 year-old Jussie Smollett and ~5 year-old Lacey Chabert to keep his developmentally-disabled sister company (and also kinda for cheap farm labor), of course! Smollett is kidnapped when Kirk Cameron stuffs a brownie with sedatives and sticks the brownie in a random bed at an orphanage. When Smollett wakes up on Kirk Cameron's pig farm, he's confused, but don't worry Kirk Cameron is there to comfort him. Kirk tells Jussie that he died, this is Heaven, you can never ever leave, also you've gotta stop speaking AAVE. Smollett is skeptical though, so the next time Kirk Cameron kidnaps a child (his sister wasn't happy with the first; she wanted a girl!) he dons an angel costume before he goes to Lacey Chabert's house. He says that he's her guardian angel, that she died of a stroke, and she has to come with him to the "Heaven." With that in mind, here's the trailer: It's a horror movie that thinks it's airing on Hallmark. It's also suuuuuper religious, to the point that the version I watched was ripped from a re-release of the movie distributed by an arm of the Mormon church. And it...kinda slaps??? The score was nominated for an Emmy, the acting is so much better than I expected going into this, fucking Cloris Leachman is in it! But it's absolutely awful for so many, many reasons. But also I love it.
  21. The singles from Danny Brown's new album are great. But the warning on the second video is no joke, I had to look away for the last minute, me head was hurting from the intensity of the flashing lights. Amazing horror movie though.
  22. I tried just plugging the dynamic biography text in there to see what it would make my dojo trainees look like annnnnnnnnnnnnd Mayako Ueda debuted her new gimmick, Zaphod Beeblebrox. It got a confused reaction.

Once again just a really great cast. I kinda agree with Sam that the rubbish robot task was a bit of a dud (and I kiiiiinda suspect it only made air because Lucy was competent for once) but the show does such a good job of bringing these groups of people in that I feel like it's entertaining even if the tasks don't measure up. Not that there haven't also been absolute great tasks this year so far too.
