  10. When I see the shitty discography they put out and influence they left on British guitar rock, I look back in anger.
  11. There's no link, I just like my 80's indie rock to be of the R.E.M. variety.
  12. My answer to this will always be The Smiths, something something R.E.M. was better.
  13. Ugh at 'that' scene, just as I was getting really into the show as well.
  14. Well, The Gaslight Anthem are certainly... a band.
  15. Eerie as shit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE16ZCwNKRU
  16. Yes, QOTSA is above your fucking beloved Smiths, what a travesty. Can't see the fuss about The Smiths. Can't stand smiths fans either. Reminds me of my problem with Radiohead. The lead singer tries his damn hardest to suck the joy and goodness for the rest of the band. Give me the Pixies over them any day. I do like noted Generic Rock Band Queens Of The Stone Age though. They make rock with no pretensions and a lot of depth. Rated R and Songs For The Deaf are essential, their new album is pretty good too.
  17. Miles Davis. Legend, obviously. He had such a diverse range of music over his time and you can really hear his dedication to his craft. A massive inspiration for me. There is a case for him to be considered one of the greatest musicians to have lived Blur are a lot better than people make them out to be, in their later years anyway. 13 and Think Tank are legit good albums, and they have a few gems spread through their earlier work. I found the whole Britpop period (Modern Life to The Great Escape) to be shite. But I hate Britpop in general. Being surrounded by Eminem fans is enough to make you hate his music regardless of quality. It helps that his work is piss poor and overhyped. He made a single good song in 'Stan'. But even a broken clock is more right than him. Tom Waits is some sort of twisted genius. Love Everything he does. Really fascinating voice, and a brilliantly oddball musical and lyrical style.

  19. Sunbather by Deafheaven. Followed closely by the These New Puritans and MBV albums. Digging the new Death Grips as well. This year been pretty good for music.
  20. People need to get their shit together and listen to The Fall.
  21. I don’t really care either way for The Germs. But I have to say that GI is probably my favourite album to come from the 'Hardcore Punk' era. Love the Beastie Boys. Pauls Boutique was pretty revolutionary and loved albums like Hello Nasty and Ill Communication I think I displayed my feelings for Killswitch Engage in the 'What bands do you hate?' thread Led Zeppelin are awesome and are a band that I will defend forever. I know because of my oh so individual music tastes i’ve got to hate them, and some aspects of their legacy kind of rub me off. But honestly, 'When the Levee Breaks' invalidates every bad word ever said about them, and I will love them forever because of that.

    See you later, Lou Reed
