Ben Folds uses his piano on just about everything he's done. Whatever & Ever Amen has some good stuff on it. Off of Rockin' the Suburbs, I seem to repeat "The Ascent of Stan" a lot. There's definitely some other good stuff, but I'm too tired to think of 'em now (Scott Joplin songs are the only piano-songs I can think of now). I'll check in later if I think of any more.

A&E is airing Season 4 during their 24-marathon over Labor Day weekend... so check it out if you haven't. Lookin' forward to Season 5... although Chloe and Edgar really bother me.

Definitely add some Nick Drake to your collection. He made some cool music in the late 60s/early 70s. Check out "Day is Done" off of Five Leaves Left or "Pink Moon" off of... well, Pink Moon. For some more recent music, you might wanna check out Iron & Wine. They do a pretty cool acoustic version of The Postal Service's "Such Great Heights" on the Garden State OST. Also, Elliot Smith has made some great music. If you've seen Good Will Hunting, you might recognize "Miss Misery" - it was nominated for an Academy Award, methinks. ...and I think just about everything off of X/O is really good. And even though you don't like country, have you checked out Johnny Cash's American Recordings series of CDs? I don't like country, but I really dug that collection. Check out any of the covers he's done (NIN's "Hurt", Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus", Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down", Soundgarden's "Rusty Cage", Will Oldham's "I See a Darkness")... they're all fantastic.

I went to the late-showing last night and really enjoyed it. When I looked at the cast listing and saw all of those wrestlers and football players in there, I wasn't expecting 'em all to do so well - but they all did pretty good.

If you're lookin' for good use of saxophone, you should check out Morphine. (Y)

For all of you who are planning on watchin' just for the NIN performance... According to MTV.com, Nine Inch Nails won't be performing at the show. Just a heads-up.
