  1. I'm actually scared by how much of this is exactly what I just said...
  2. And there is modern football discourse in a nutshell, expecting consistency on subjective decisions. It's why VAR as currently delivered can not work as a panacea for "wrong" decisions, because football isn't a perfect game and even the independent panels who can spend as much time as they like reviewing decisions will still not agree between them on something a referee (and potentially VAR) has seconds to decide on.
  3. I agree fully, and I love how brilliantly consistent you've always been on the topic... https://www.ewbattleground.com/search/?&q="Tapping up"&author=stokeriño&search_and_or=or
  4. There's 3 Forest players closer to Casemiro than the one who was blocked. Realistically the answer is "stop standing offside when your team has a set piece", but there's definitely a difference between the two.
  5. I don't think it's laughable at all, for Colwill the ball drops where he could realistically head it away, for Casemiro Varane isn't remotely involved. Offside is more complex than it needs to be (and I'm still baffled by how we got a penalty against Bournemouth weekend before last), but barring moving back to the 20th century law before interfering with play was added you're going to get these subjective ones. Both correct decisions for me.
  6. With all football rivalry aside Liverpool is one of my favourite cities, to the extent that if this Man City game falls favourably I might do the weekend there with the Etihad as a stop-off.
  7. Well done ITV. Leeds just scored while they were replaying a half chance.
  8. Wolves or Brighton & Hove Albion v Coventry City Nottingham Forest or Man U v Liverpool or Southampton Chelsea or Leeds United v Leicester City Manchester City v Newcastle United Fucks sake. Might as well have lost the penalty shootout.
  9. Definitely seemed to be the prevailing thought of fans on the way out, I parked miles away so heard lots of "how are we so bad in the league?". We were shite, could easily have lost in the 90 minutes. I didn't get a John Bull, pushed for time so ended up with a service station KFC (Greggs, KFC and TOTALLY WICKED were the headliners).
  10. The problem is there are shitloads of brilliant second choice keepers these days, all clubs want at least two good ones. We keep hearing talks of Ramsdale moving, but there's no top half Premier League team where he's guaranteed a start. Where does Kelleher go?
  11. EWB Blackburn hive mind, I'm parking near a chip shop that does John Bull tomorrow, which claims to be a local delicacy. Do I touch it?
  12. Everton have got 4 points back from their FFP deduction.
  13. In all proper seriousness I hope @DavidMarrio had a lovely day out and that he should remember it's a school day tomorrow.
  14. Chelsea have absolutely overspent (and I'd suggest poorly) but it's not as if Liverpool are Luton. Weirdly Chelsea have also overspent on incredibly young players too, with Nkunku the senior pro at the end of the game, and that was probably the difference with Liverpool having the likes of Van Dijk, but also Endo and Diaz controlling the game.
  15. Carragher pointing out "footballs not all about money" shortly after a winner from one of the most expensive centre halfs in world football was pretty special. That said even with Klopp's insufferableness (I am turning this off now) it's quite nice for a big defender getting the goal, similar to that screamer Kompany scored a few seasons back in the league. Proper leadership.
  16. In our defence we've been playing a 17 year old since September because we can't keep 3 midfielders fit, and we're lucky if we've got a striker available on a given weekend. While Chelsea and Liverpool have been hit recently (and longer with Chelsea), at least they have big squads to cope. Frankly a miracle we're still where we are in the league.
  17. Yellow more than enough for me, just unlucky.
  18. I know they upped the tolerance on offsides, but it's still ridiculous. For me they should have looked at that for 5 seconds, saw that it's level and given the goal, because I still have little to zero faith in the tech.
  19. First half it honestly felt like Arsenal had about 15 men on the pitch.
  20. In the second semi they're going full Nexus and the final is Nitro vs Giant.
  21. Oops Bournemouth 0-3 Man City (Sat 5.30pm, Sky) Arsenal 0-1 Newcastle (Sat 8pm, TNT)
  22. Not a finish (sadly), but I'm still plodding through The Last of Us (I think it's the remastered PS4 version) for the first time and I'm just not enjoying it. I'm playing it, and it's obviously quite good, but I find the stealthy bits dull, I'm sick of being jumped on by monsters, and it's just so dark that it's annoying. I've got to about halfway through and switched it to easy just to get through quicker (I'm interested in the plot), but I'm slowly starting to accept that it isn't for me and if I wasn't such an irritating completist I'd have given up by now. Might just watch the TV show...
  23. Exactly what I was going to say, I'd assumed he was a 28 year old journeyman...
