  1. With the MCU's momentum going backwards, I wonder how long until Sony just try to sell the rights back to Disney. Nothing outside of Venom has worked and never will if they're trying to build a world outside of Spiderman, without actual Spiderman.

Honestly just wish they'd reboot everything and try again. At the moment the cracks in all the various properties are too much to paper over.

Even Kang, Majors firing aside, doesn't really feel threatening yet.

Having Ant Man defeat the most evil Kang, who had been cast out to the Quantum Realm by all the other Kangs, by himself wasn't exactly a blockbuster introduction. Thanos was great as he was so slowly introduced, feels like they tried something different with Kang and it really didn't work (Majors issue aside).

  3. Honestly the best thing they could do is just rush to Secret Wars, do the whole 'everyone from every universe fights each other' blow out then start everything again from scratch, with X-Men and Fantastic Four at the heart of things. Still don't think they can shoehorn those two things into the MCU as it stands without ruining things even further or do the characters/teams justice.

  4. Genuinely don't think I will ever get bored of this show, they keep finding a way to get awesome combinations of comedians that make it must watch. My mum is 70 and she's in hysterics every episode, the hotel was one of the GOAT tasks and we're well over 100+ episodes into things.

  5. I've not watched Secret Invasion, mainly in part due to the awful reviews/comments I've come across. And I really am in no rush to see Loki either, as pointed out above the idea was really twee and the first season was great, but another season of it doesn't feel like must see telly.

The idea they're just going to thrust Fantastic Four and X-Men into things out of nowhere with an excuse of 'because multiverse' just makes me so disinterested. Would rather they just end the current timeline then reboot it with X-Men and Fantastic Four at the core of the new MCU or what have you. Crowbarring them in now just won't work, and given how lame most things have been since Endgame, I don't have faith in Feige/Disney to pull it off.

  6. Yeah that was monstrous. Absolute drubbing. Final on Sunday will be a much tighter game I feel. Thought we bowled well up top and through the middle, but India batting being so pedestrian made it easy to limit them. The fact Sharma post-match was talking about how the batting was fine and it was the bowling that's the problem should ring massive alarm bells for them. Feel they're handicapping themselves as none of their players can feature in global T20 tournaments, experience counts for everything. They're thoroughly unlikeable though, so makes it all the sweeter.

Different proposition facing up to Shaheen on Sunday. Really hope that Wood can get fit in the next few days as he could really make the difference, especially at the MCG.

Bangladesh have been screwed over today, there's no way they should have gone back out so quickly when the pitch was so wet.

I'm not saying it's because they're playing India, who would have lost if they didn't go back out, but y'know...

The balance of power in the game is just far too heavily skewed at the moment. It was bad enough with India/England/Australia being the dominant 3, but even England/Australia just don't have the pull the BCCI have. Financial interests dominating the sport, proved by the shambles that West Indian cricket has become.

It's been a rubbish World T20.. Stupid weather. South Africa are gonna win it all.

South Africa v New Zealand final where somehow they both manage to choke, or it rains solid for 3 days and the final never takes place.

England giving off a sense of 2010 'peaking at the right time' with today's win.

  9. Absolutely gutted for Toppers getting McGrathed before the tournament. Bloke has come back from the brink and was so happy he'd made himself a starter for the tournament for that to go and happen.

Aussies got a pasting, you do love to see it. New Zealand perennial dark horses. Had Aussies as favourites pre-tournament but with that loss they're really behind the 8 ball now.

England's batting line up is gross. Curran and Woakes coming in at 8 and 9 with that top 7 is just obscene. Wood bowling rockets.

Watch us lose to the Afghans here mind.

I don't think I like the idea of them just saying "Well, they've been here the whole time... but no one knew". If they didn't do that with Wakanda already, then I'd say maybe. But you also have to consider that Atlantis would end up taking the same route, and then it just becomes a question of how much of the planet don't the people know about and is it realistic to think that three major areas in the world were just invisible to everyone for so long?

Eternals basically told us that everything is a lie and the Earth is just a giant egg for a giant space man to emerge from. Pretty sure that's going to be continually glossed over given the various wide ranging and ridiculous implications it has.

  11. 5th time at Glastonbury, was a vintage year. Every act I saw was at least good, crowds were mega into everything I saw, perfect weather, good crew of us as well. Unashamedly being in the tent for Sugababes was probably the highlight, career spanning Pet Shop Boys set meant no regrets for missing Kendrick. Honourable mentions to Self Esteem, Jamie T, Confidence Man, The Avalanches, Herbie Hancock and Kacey Musgraves. Diana Ross was hella fun despite the wobbly vocals, who gives a shit anyway.

Really felt being 3 years older and being that much fatter would ruin my festival but apart from my feet being in tatters, coped otherwise. Onwards to 2023.

  12. Gutted Chunders didn't get his hundred for NZ, but hell of a win for Stokes/McCullum in their first game. Going to be a bumpy ride the next couple of years, Potts impressive but yet another medium pacer that'll suit home conditions only. Batting looks paperweight again bar Root and Foakes. The top 3 really inspires zero confidence.

  13. Yeah this is a fantastic set of contestants, really think the live crowd has helped massively too. Unashamedly Sophie Duker makes me feel like I belong in horny jail. Even when she's eating 100g of butter.

Where's that thread about game shows that get on your nerves? Cos this is basically Lingo on ITV and the stupidity of the people on it is astounding. The other day someone couldn't guess a four letter word beginning with C. Nothing else required, it was the first guess.

I can think of an appropriate one 🙄

Surely there had to be a better way to get Yelena to back off than just ripping off the worst scene from Batman vs. Superman, and it made even less sense here.

    Spoiler

On the other hand I thought it made total sense. Clint obviously knew everything about Elena from Nat, whereas Yelena had no real clue who Clint is and the nature of his relationship with Nat. Clint using that special whistle, knowing it would bring Yelena from a sense of rage down to a more rational level makes sense to me.

  16. Probably go back and see LCD Soundsystem at Glastonbury in 2016. Seen hundreds of gigs/sets but even still that's an absolute stand out, GOAT for me. Never experienced anything like it before or since in terms of a perfect storm of a performance, crowd, atmosphere etc. Blur's 2009 set is one that gets raved about all the time too, and they were my first ever favourite band, so would likely lump for that.
