  1. The shot of Daryl standing there with the possum during his "interview" might be my favorite visual of the season so far. Hilarious.
  2. Fortunately Bell is good enough to make that work.
  3. Ben Roethlisberger is now the only QB in NFL history with 2 500-yard passing games. He also joins an elite list of QBs to win 100 games (I believe every QB who has won 100 games and is eligible is in the Hall of Fame) and is the 4th fastest to do so. Now if only Todd Haley would actually let Ben throw down field this offense might be able to hang 30+ on every team they play.
  4. Of course they do. But none of those fanbases also simultaneously promote the fact that they're the "best fans in baseball." I have nothing against the Cardinals. They're not the Reds or the Brewers or even the Cubs. I respect the team. Their fans are a different level of obnoxious though.
  5. Stay classy, bud. Tell that to the racist, homophobic, obnoxious, arrogant Cardinals fans.
  6. What an amazing season! I hate the Cardinals' fans but it's hard to hate that team. Now to watch their idiot fans meltdown when they lose to the Dodgers in the NLCS. I'm just excited that the Pirates are only going to get better.
  7. Clutch's Earth Rocker is album of the year already. Just awesome.

  8. I've also heard John Candy was originally supposed to play Louis Part was written for him.
  9. Not that pythag win/loss means anything this early but their record is the exact inverse of their pythag. They should have a losing record. I'm hoping they either fall apart soon and make some trades for the future. But if that doesn't happen, I guess it wouldn't hurt to send Joel Hanrahan on his way if it means we can bring in a bat.
  10. That being said - Jameson Taillon, Gerrit Cole, Mark Appel. In 3 years you guys will only need to score like, 3 runs a game to win the division. Yep, it's kind of a weird yet exciting time to be a Pirates fan. And to think, people here want to run Neal Huntington out of town.
  11. The Pittsburgh Pirates are tied for first place. Just wanted to enjoy seeing that sentence again. Don't worry, it probably won't last.

  13. Is something wrong with Dana White or does he always sound/act like that?
  14. People tweeted about it from the 4th inning onward. No hitter thru 5 No hitter thru 6 No hitter thru 7 No hitter thru 8 sahyder posts about it ONCE hit in the 9th. He cost Verlander the no-no. End of story. Strong argument. You convinced me. Thanks sahyder!
  15. Sahyder's looking out for you. I doubt he jinxed it. People were tweeting about the no hitter since the 4th inning. EDIT: Funny Verlander post-game moment
  16. We have been awful for 20 years now. But at least we've never been no-hit during that time span. How? I don't know. Especially when we field a team with four guys hitting under .200
  17. I'd say they had easily the best draft to non Steeler homers like yourself. No. The Steelers got two first round talents, one top ten talent (best guard in the entire draft) and one of the best tackles in the draft in the SECOND ROUND. They also added a 3rd round NT in the 4th round. I like what the Bengals did but Zeitler was considered a second round talent by a lot of people, as a guy who watched Devon Still play a lot I think he's overhyped and I'm not sure Kirkpatrick is a can't-miss guy. Rounds 3, 4, and 5 were really good for the Bengals but the Steelers dominated the first two rounds. No one else was even close. Yep. Both guys should've been in the top 15.
  18. The Bengals had the 2nd best draft in the AFC North. Is this real life?
  19. Dixon is no longer on the team, he's a free agent. I don't have a problem with Leftwich and Batch as backups. They've got it done before. And if Ben gets hurt and is out long term the team isn't going to win anything anyway. --- As for the first round, I think the Steelers, by staying put, had one of the top three or four best picks in Round One. I cannot believe Cleveland screwed up twice (okay, yeah I can). And the Bruce Irvin pick was hilarious.
  20. Ugh. 1993 all over again. Flyers are the better team. *vomits*
  21. September 2015. The Orioles? HAH. They blow!
  22. Is there any way the Pirates can end the season now and not forfeit the rest of their games? .500 feels good. Even if it's two games into the season.
  23. Not that the running game can't be crucial to a team's success but really, the last time I can remember a team winning the Super Bowl because of their run game was the 2006 Colts when Peyton was awful in the playoffs and the Colts' defense and running game carried him to the Super Bowl. Not that Cleveland has to worry about that whole playoffs thing anyway. So yeah I agree that there's really no point in taking a big time running back early in the draft. I'd like to think the Steelers learned that first hand with Rashard Mendenhall in 2008. As good as he can be if used properly, the team's success isn't ever going to be determined by what Rashard Mendenhall does. And looking at some of the guys on the board when Mendenhall was taken, the team could be in much better position if they hadn't taken Mendenhall than if they had.
  24. I thought maybe you wouldn't be so pathetic as to pull the whole "BLAH BLAH I'M NOT LISTENING TO YOU!" card. What are you, five? I was trying to have a legitimate discussion, but apparently you're not interested in discussing something when you're wrong.
