  1. Mine are repeats from earlier in the thread, but: Dexter Got so ridiculous in the later seasons, I didn't watch the end. After watching for so many years and only giving up in the last season, I read a recap of the end to find out what happened, which only served to vindicate my decision to opt out. What an awful decline that show went through. Under The Dome I really wanted to like this, but switched off during Season 2 (No idea if it is still going now) because it all seemed far too hokey. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but something about the casting drove me up the wall. Too youth oriented perhaps? Frustrated because the concept of the show really appealed to me, but it ended up too much like Grange Hill/ Byker Grove/ Hollyoaks. The Simpsons Loved this show. Years ago, it was a widely held view that The Simpsons was a show for both children and adults, but I don't think that trope holds much water now. We're spoilt for choice these days with TV shows that cater for adult males, boasting movie quality episodes every week. Things like Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, etc. I don't think as many adults watch Simpsons/ Family Guy/ American Dad as they did 10 years ago. All of those shows were on my radar at one point, but I don't keep up with them any more. 24 I've watched them all, but after binge watching the series again recently it doesn't hold up well in 2015. If the rumoured reboot happens without Jack Bauer, I definitely wouldn't watch it. I think it has run its course, there are so many other shows like it now. Top Gear Like 24 without Jack Bauer, I won't be watching Top Gear without Clarkson/Hammond/May. Don't want to watch a car show fronted by Chris Evans, it's about as appealing to me as Fifth Gear. (I never watch, and that already exists)
  2. Anyone watching Survivor Gamez on Twitch tonight? It's a Battle Royale style last man standing deathmatch using DayZ. It starts in a couple of hours. The info is up here: http://blog.twitch.tv/2015/04/survivorgamezvi-live-april19th/
  3. For old consoles, a cheap Dazzle box like the DVC100 will do the trick. It connects to your PC through USB, and you can record the input in Windows movie maker like you would a webcam. It wouldn't be worth trying to use it with an Xbox 360 or PS3, the quality wouldn't be good enough for that, but retro stuff would be fine going through it. All you'd need to consider is, how does the specific console you want to record from connect to a TV? different consoles connect in different ways, some are scart, some are composite, some are aerial, so just check you have a capture card that supports that cable as an input- or find a splitter/converter that carries the picture/sound down a cable your capture card supports. You might also want to invest in a splitter to use before it reaches the capture card, so you can play on your TV and record on your PC at the same time. Otherwise you'll have to watch the computer screen while you record the footage. Probably not the most fun way of doing it. While it's recording, the playback can be jerky etc.
  4. At first I didn't really get it, but the explanation in the replies makes this quite interesting. Definitely a unique method of photo manip!
  5. I'm going to see Scroobius Pip at Koko in London on the 27th, can't wait!!

    FIFA 12

Don't think I have any of you on XBOX Live, but feel free to add me for a game of FIFA 12. It's pretty much the only game I play these days. DTVincent
  7. Yes Meacon beat you, by like, a year.

  8. I bought a 3DS and so far have been really impressed with it. Haven't ever owned a DS before, or any handheld for that matter, but I really like the 3DS now I've got one. Expect it to get even better as the web browser is rolled out and more games get released. (Bomberman 3DS, please don't get cancelled!)
  9. Surfin' EWB cos I have a week off work! woo.

    1. LL!

      LL!

      Getting lazy with those bookings.

  10. Hello & welcome.... I like the top Danielson image the best, think it is a powerful image. Also really dig the top Punk image for its trendiness and consistent theme.
  11. Looks good, especially for a casual beginner. Perhaps you could make the cutoff around Orton's neck less obvious through a gradual fade (feather?)
  12. Although PHP has been ruled out due to server limitations, my first instinct was to pull the data out of a MySQL dB using PHP. Then you would have a centralized location for your data, and probably a user friendly GUI in the form of PHPMyAdmin. Webspace is cheap as chips now, couple of quid a month. Get it away from Webs.com and do yourself a favour!
  13. If it's supposed to be a GIF, you've linked us to a JPG by accident. It looks alright but could be improved by better utilizing colour to establish a focal point. Also I can't read the text (too small & high contrast) which is a bummer.
  14. is visiting EWB. Hello!

  15. What an episode. Initial impression was that entrapment as a smoke monster would be "... worse than dying, Jacob. Much worse" but I quite like Mofoticon's theory that Jacob's brother is dead (hard to dispute the Adam & Eve skeletons found by the Losties) and the smoke monster was released through extinguishing the light, and elected to take on the physical embodiment of the dead MIB- much akin to how he has now chosen to look like John Locke. Am not sure how MIB (or 'boy in black') saw his dead mother; I always thought that dead people were the physical form of the black smoke, however at this point the black smoke was still trapped by the light. I love the intricate ambiguities of this show.
  16. True, but there is no guarantee that Jin is a candidate. Kwon could refer to either Sun or Jin, and Sawyer tampering with the bomb makes it a null point anyway because candidates can kill each other- it is only Smokey that can't kill a candidate. I didn't see Jin's death as a suicide attempt; he died in vain trying to save his wife. Am I right? I may just be talking bollocks here, but this is my understanding of it.
  17. Lnk, How could Jin have possibly escaped? Ignoring the scene where their lifeless corpses drifted apart from each other, how could Jin have possibly held his breath long enough to escape without an oxygen mask (Jack and Sawyer took the last one)? Especially after spending so long underwater drowning with Sun. Matzat, According to http://epguides.com/Lost/ there are 2 regular weekly episodes left, then the 2-part finale with both parts airing on May 23.

    DLS vs Pip

Will keep an eye out for them. If you've got my number still, SMS me your Address/Postcode. Really liked the Dockers stuff so I downloaded her audiobook on iTunes. Love it. More cyber stalking reveals she is actually an older Kate Nash.

    DLS vs Pip

I'm going to see them in Brussels (Belgium) this month. I know Keith has seen them an ungodly number of times, but has he ever travelled abroad for it??? I accept this as a moral victory. Also on the bill is Laura Dockrill. Hadn't heard of her until now but the YouTube vids look alright. Haven't been to see Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip since the new album came out. How is it live? Anyone got a review of their new stuff live?

Watched this yesterday in 2D, thought it was really good & the 3hrs flew by. Admittedly lacking in originality, I felt that whilst the film didn't tread new ground in the story arc, the story it did tell was very poigniant and well delivered. I would have perhaps liked to have seen less action at the end & more interactions between the different species. However if there are people complaining about the 3hrs dragging, this idea wouldn't have helped matters.
  21. RIP. Blanche was the best part of Coronation Street; thanks for posting the YouTube links.
  22. Have seen it twice now (once in the cinema and once on DVD) and it wasn't my favourite film by any stretch of the imagination, but it was perfectly watchable and a fun way to waste a couple of hours. Wouldn't go out of my way to watch it, but it's not bad. I find it hard to recommend because it is structured so differently to many conventional films. Hard to predict whether someone will like it until they watch it for themselves.
  23. Update- It won't install on my computer. Cest la vie.
  24. Downloading the trial now. Haven't played a Football Manager in years & years, but I used to get incredibly hooked on this drug of a game.
  25. They look awesome. Agreed with Keith on pretty much everything. Would have suggested the only noteable plus the first one has over the second one, was better care and consideration for where the wheels would go and being able to incorporate that into the design. But then I realised it was for a snowboard, not a skateboard. Whoops!
