  1. The death in TWD 100 was brutal, but really, really, really foreshadowed heavily in the previous issues. It could have, and should have (given who it was), been heavier than it turned out to be. Negan, however, looks like he'll be a lot of fun as a villain, but I tend to doubt we'll ever see him in the show.
  2. Fully agreed. Ultimate Peter and the series with him in it is the best consistent series from the beginning in the Ultimate universe (which might not say that much). The Bendis/Bagley run is a lot of fun to read all around.
  3. The Dark Knight, definitely. Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, the list goes on and is extremely good.
  4. TMZ: Andy Whitfield, Dead at 39 I usually lurk, but I just saw this and didn't see anything about it posted anywhere. It hits very close to home and I am very sad about this.
  5. Sorry to resurrect an old thread...but is anyone still watching this? With one episode left before the series finale, I was just curious if anyone around here was keeping up with it.
  6. If you're referring to how you never see them again, then I can see that. But they are mentioned constantly. The lead characters here are the camp survivors. It'd be like us revisiting the Vatos over and over again incessantly. One thing that I think the show is utilizing that the comic did was the idea that, just like in real life, you will meet people and they will come and go and you might never see them again. In this zombie apocalypse-type world, it goes without saying that Rick and the crew might never see someone ever again. Again, knowing what I know about the comics being used more as a starting point, I can assume that Morgan and his son will be back much faster than they were in the comic.

    True Blood

I know what Crystal is from the books, and it's kind of awesome. Oh, and I need a Franklin Mott TV show. He is everything awesome this show needs.
  8. My absolute favorite film is Glory, the Civil War film starring Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, and Morgan Freeman. Just an all around amazing movie just for those actors being in it at the start of their primes. Oh, and Cary Elwes, who is prone to making things better by being involved. And the best thing I've ever heard someone call someone else. "You ugly Mexican African fucking whores!" Amazing.

    True Blood

My wife loves the Sookie Stackhouse novels this show was heavily based on, so I can tell you with complete certainty that the werewolves (and if you've been watching the little "Drop of True Blood" minisodes on HBO, the other weres) are all the actual animals with golden glowing eyes. They are NOT the Silver Bullet/The Howling/Dog Soldiers mutated man-wolves. I'm very, very happy they're at least using real wolves (from what I've read) instead of going the Twilight route with it.
  10. 1 - Star Trek 2 - The Hangover 3 - The Hurt Locker 4 - Away We Go 5 - Up 6 - District 9 7 - Zombieland 8 - Avatar 9 - Inglourious Basterds 10 - The Soloist I can't believe Soloist made the list, since I had Taken on there and, really, watching Liam Neeson kick much ass makes for a fun way to kill a night. Unfortunately, I've seen He's Just Not That Into You more times than probably all the other movies combined...
  11. So the season finale just aired. Besides the usual boo hoos that the fantastic show gives out, I really wish the Vince storyline saw more evolution and a decent enough end as well as more from Jess' Dad. However, Landry continues to be my favorite character on this show.
  12. DS9 is the top for me, no question. Once Worf showed up, the show became amazing. It was what some of the Star Trek TNG shoulda been.
  13. Yeah, sorry, I'm not well versed in MMA, but it just looks like Nelson laid there and was just too heavy for Kimbo to do anything with. That was very, very boring to me.

    RIP Roc...

Wow. I'm floored. Roc Raida's work with the X-Ecutioners and the work he did with DJ Vlad on Rock Phenomenon are two of my guiltiest of guilty pleasures. Jeez. I'm gonna miss him and his talents immensely.

    True Blood

My vote is Bill's maker, Lorena. She may have gotten her heart broken, but she can still overpower Bill and she's already shown to be batshit insane.

    True Blood

So the season finale came and went tonight, and while it was eerily peaceful compared to the previous episodes, it ended rather strongly I felt. Maryanne seemed...I don't know...not as much of a threat as I was hoping she'd be. The way it went down with Bill also seemed to be building the third season in the same fashion as the third book, albeit under very different circumstances. It was a soothing end until the very end, but a really good ep, IMO.

    Glee

I feel like I could watch Jane Lynch read the phonebook. She pulls that bitch/snide stuff so quickly, but she's also crazily versatile. The show is really good, and I'm going to have to catch it, even if I didn't like it (the wife owns that TV on So You Think You Can Dance nights). Better than True Blood? Ohhhhh...no...no no no. Still good, though.
  18. Not sure if it's been mentioned, but scan Clayface in Detective Mode and he has no skeleton, it's a cool little bit. I seriously hope the sequel I'd heard about them starting work on to be as good as this, particularly if they do a game with a distinct lack of Joker. I figure, Two Face could be out there...maybe Riddler in some form beyond minigames, you know?

    True Blood

Godric became my favorite supporting character on this show after only two full shows with him in it. He's amazing. I miss him already. As for his being Jesus, when the FOTS preacher whose name eludes me at the moment calls out Jesus' name, Godric mentions he lived during the time of Jesus...so I'd take that to mean he's not Jesus. However, even if this episode gave a sense of finality where all the recent ones have had cliffhangers, this show continues to be far and away the best thing on TV right now.
  20. Mother of God did Cyborg put Gina DOWN. FUCK. They threw like their lives depended on it.
  21. To comment on a previous discussion...you can't really consider Batman an underdog, I'd think. He's kinda been this unbeatable type bad ass when stacked up with the heavy hitters in JLA and all. Dick Grayson, on the other hand, will probably never get the respect he deserves now that he's been put in the Bat-tights. I find it hilarious that Dan DiDio was so hellbent on bringing Hal Jordan and Barry Allen back...but was a-okay with his biggest goldmine getting overhauled with a new guy behind the mask (a new guy he was willing to kill off only a year or two prior). Superman is what he is. An idealistic character, like Hogan is/was. Built for the children to idolize, not just be fans of. With the 80s and the turn to anti-heroics, Superman's a faded ideal that you can't really tarnish because you'd fuck up what made him Superman in the first place, so you have to keep going with what's been put forth before you. ...or make Conner Kent Superman or something. And on a side note, I've sat down over the last two weeks and read everything Green Lantern from Rebirth 'til Blackest Night and I've gotta say I came in loving Hal Jordan but ended falling in love with Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner, Kilowog, and Sinestro completely. The way they get treated in these books is just so...perfect for them, I guess. GLC is now tops for me, with GL coming in a very close second. Lastly, how many Y, The Last Man TPBs are there? I've only been able to find up to 8 (I think) in bookstores and I didn't know if that series was completely TPBed all the way or not. I know it's older, do I imagine it is completely in TPB form now.

    True Blood

Godric completely sucking your attention away from anyone and anything else on screen just makes me feel like he's not going to be around after this amazing episode. I almost feel like a world weary I have a dream type vampire would completely rock this show harder than it already is. I'm going to be a bit put off if Godric is dead, seeing as how Luke seemingly blew himself up near the doorway and it seemed to me like Sookie was closer and/or Jason was closer to the bomb than even Godric was (and I highly doubt they're dead). That is, of course, assuming Luke even got the bomb to go off in the first place.

That is true...with that in mind...HOLY SHIT at this week's ep.

    True Blood

Well...sorry, I guess? Hahaha...the tags have been giving me hell lately with the board upgrade. They seem to not wanna open for me anymore. I know that's off topic, but I figured I'd just follow the "potential spoilers" thing to the letter, and spoil something I'd already seen during a commercial and kinda just came to the conclusion.

    True Blood

Jason isn't dead because, if you see the trailer, you see Jason talking to the girl after she's shot him. He's lying on the ground with red paint on his shirt.
