I'm loving what I've seen out of the Ranger youngsters. With Cally, Hags, and possibly Step out for a good period of time, guys like Kristo, Lindberg, Fast and Hrivik could make a big impact early for the Rangers while the guys are out. I'm starting to get bothered by Step holding out this long, I really don't want this to be another Dubinsky situation, where he signs late with no camp under his belt and starts off the season miserably. I understand that his agent wants the best for the player, but Sather has a history of giving his young forwards bridge deals after the entry deals run out. That's not going to change overnight. Ah well, he needs to come back sooner than later or it could be an ugly break.

And we've got ourselves a game again. Much better second period for the Rangers. They need to keep that same energy and MAINTAIN it in order to win tonight.

The Rangers did play their best game this entire series, yet still lost because they were late to the game. If they showed up for the entire game, Rangers would've won 3-1, 3-2. Only goal that seemed fuzzy was Elias' goal due to Henrique being offsides as Kovy entered the zone with the puck. Lundqvist showed that he was human these past two games, and I'm sure that he will make up for it in game six. He has too, or the Rangers will be out and there will be a lot of questions that this team needs to address. For one their lack of secondary scoring, or scoring in general. The Rangers have relied heavily on Richards and Gaborik far too much during the season to carry the load, and its seemingly doing them in. So much so, that Richards thought he was on the Devils the other night, cause his shot on Lundqvist was his best scoring chance this entire series. Look for the Rangers to go after someone who plays to Torts' style. And that could be Parise, as he has openly admitted liking to play with Torts at some point, but yet they have to get rid of cap room. Good bye, Brandon Dubinsky and his 3.1/mil a year contract for him to do absolutely nothing. There will be a team out there that likes your style of play, of rarely scoring goals and taking it out on a gatorade cooler, but not the Rangers. The Rangers did not go into the trade deadline like they did during the 94 run and acted like they wanted to win now, and I understand that. You have a good core of young talent, and I'm sure no one expected Krieder to produce at the level he has so far, so there has been a few bright spots shown on the Rangers thus far. But it isn't enough. Also, playing two seven game series hasn't helped them, and I seem them running out of gas. The Rangers relied heavily on Lundqvist, and he has taken that with great stride, knowing that the team can't score he has put the pressure on himself to make sure that this team wins, but maybe he put too much pressure on himself. The last two games he has not played like the Hart and Vezina trophy finalist, more like an average, human goaltender. Got lawn seats for the show at PNC Bank Arts Center, with Weezer, Taking Back Sunday and Chester French on August 26. I'm excited more for Weezer though than Blink-182 but am equally happy to see both.

The major thing that made me come to the conclusion to get Live 09 was the Dynamic DNA thing that they added on this year, which I think was also added to 2k9, but is executed better on Live 09. Pretty much what it'll do for you, through XBL, and PSN is give you daily roster updates, and breakdown of every NBA player. For example if LeBron James is going through a rough patch, it'll affect the way he's playing in the game, where as if he's on a hot streak, once again it'll affect the way he's playing. Also it goes through every match up each team plays during this season, and the prior season too. So if you want to play a Lakers/Suns game from when they played in 07-08 season, you can and it'll also have the lineups and roster used at that time. It's pretty cool, and with the International teams (and rules) it made Live 09 the choice for me.
