  1. Since you wanna go there... remember Gasol had never even won a playoff GAME until hooking up with Kobe. Look it up... he got swept in 3 consecutive series from 2004-06.
  2. Defend the Magic? Who on the Orlando Magic draws multiple defenders? Dwight no post moves Howard? They'll get a big to throw on him. You act like Wade and LeBron aren't all NBA defenders, they are(Wade was 2nd team, LeBron was 1st team). They'll probably play the best perimeter defense of any team in the league. The Celtics are old... I'm surprise they were able to even make a run this year. They were not the best team in the East. Are we seriously gonna even consider teams like The Mavs or Bulls? Who scares you on their roster other then Dirk or D. Rose? No one. The only... and I mean only team standing in Miami's way next season are the reigning NBA Champions. You watch next June... we'll be in South Beach for the Finals. You seriously just asked how they were gonna defend the Mavs. LMAO. You'd been better off just stopping at The Thunder.
  3. The things some of you guys say "wow" me. I think we just saw what can happen when 3 of the league's best players unite... hello anyone remember Boston? People were saying the same thing about the Celtics as they acquired their big 3... and look what they were able to do. And those 3 guys were all in their 30's by the time they got together, none of these 3 guys have even hit 29 yet! If you don't think there are going to be vets lining up to play for these guys. Hell, they might even be able to convince Allen Iverson to swallow his pride and join the team. That's probably a longshot, but I'm willing to bet he can get his act together to play and produce behind those guys. I know he's stunk in his past few situations, but all those were doomed to fail from the beginning. You can book the Heat now for the 2011 NBA Championship. Probably 2012, and 2013 as well.
  4. Ray Allen is one of the best clutch shooters in NBA History. He's put himself right up there in the class of guys like Reggie Miller with his recent play. He's always been consistent but this year he's been at another level.
  5. So how about those Houston Rockets? I don't care what anyone says... 20 straight wins in the NBA is 20 straight wins in the NBA. Very impressive, even if they don't win a chip.
  6. I know there is no way to predict who's going to get injured and what not... but a lot of you guys seem to be misinformed about Kevin Garnett's durability. In fact, throughout his 12 year career, the most games he's ever missed in a single season has been 6, and that figure has only been reached in each of the past 2 seasons. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/kevin_garnet...reer_stats.html I can understand people expecting either Allen/Pierce to miss some time, but it's highly unlikely that KG will miss an enormous amount of time.
  7. Celtics are automatically upped into the top 3 of the East, replacing Miami and joining Cleveland and Chicago as the teams to beat. Does any other team sport a trio as lethal as Allen-Pierce-KG? Outside of Phoenix and San Antonio, I say no.
  8. When Mike Vick is proven to be innocent/not guilty I wonder what all of you clowns will be saying then.
  9. I'm having a hard time believing this Yi guy is going to pan out to anything but another Darko. So now we are finding out that he lied about his age so he could play against younger, inferior talent, and then before he even gets to the league he has a list of what teams he will play for. Get that shit outta here, he should be thrilled that teams are willing to even take a look at him. I've never understood why these International players get so much hype... like Bill Simmons said for every Dirk we get four Nikolov Tskitichvili's(sp?), for every Tony Parker we get four Beno Udrhi's(sp?). I'm not saying to totally give up on these guys, but seriously I wouldn't trust one of my lottery picks with some unproven foreigner. And just because he played well in the Olympics, people expect that to automatically translate to nightly production in the L.
  10. See I can't call that Sixers team bad, because for what it's worth they did win 56 games in an Eastern Conference that sort of resembles today's version. And they also were able to get one win against a team I consider to be top 5 of all time, the 00-01 Lakers.
  11. Anyone who tries to make the case of Dallas not losing to anyone else in a 7 game series should just save it for another time, because we can only go with what we know. But if you want to play the hypothetical games, let's just say Dallas actually beat the Warriors and advanced to the West Finals. Let's say Robert Horry never knocked Steve Nash on his ass, that led to those suspensions and the Suns beat the Spurs. Does Dallas beat Phoenix with a healthy Amare Stoudemire? I don't think so. Anyways on to the draft, I'm surprised at so many in the media for completely killing Boston for the Ray Allen trade. I actually thought it was a good trade, and I see Boston possibly being able to make a run in the East within the next few years. Especially when we all saw probably the worst team ever make an NBA finals(Cavs)this year.
  12. Um Puke where did you find that scouting report? Whoever did that is a clown, it sounds more like a scouting report for Acie Law then it does Affalo. Or maybe that was Rodney Stuckey's scouting report, because he was the 3rd leading scorer in all of College Basketball last season(26.1 ppg).
  13. Yeah when I first heard about the NY/Portland trade, I thought it was pretty dumb until I realized Steve Francis must have an expiring contract soon. So not only does Portland have a great young nucleus, they may potentially have some cap room in the future to sign a stud through Free Agency. However they decide to handle the decision, I just really believe that the Trailblazers are going to become the prototype NBA Franchise for the next decade or so. I know it's early but they have really prepared themselves to be a force for years to come.
